Prince vs. Rick James - Who's Better

I Don't Know Between Those 2..there Both Well Respected Artist But In My Opinion I Would Say Rick James...

Fire N Desire
Mary Jane
R Some Of My Favorites

Hahaha because most people here can't name more than 4 songs of his without looking up his discography.
 
Rick James has anthems.

Mary Jane, You and I, Super Freak, Ghetto Life, Hard To Get, Ebony Eyes, You Bring The Freak Out, Sweet Sexy Thing, Big Time...check out those songs and his arrangements and the joints with Teena Marie.

Don't Get it twisted, I have Street Songs. I have Come Get It. Both amazing. But comparing to Prince, gotta roll with the Genius Prince Rogers Nelson.

Don't forget I feel for you (also performed by Chaka Khan), Do me baby, I hate you, Always in my hair ect, ect. I could go on for days.

Prince basically ran Rick James out of the business. Prince haunted that his whole career and he's prolly cursing out Prince from the grave. Rick James was a talented guy with a hell of a voice but he couldn't fugg with Prince on his worst day. Prince wrote songs for a lot of people and he used different names to get credit (Camile, Jamie Starr, Joey Coco, The Kid, Gemini, Mr. Goodnight, Partyman, ect).

Rick James was great but Prince is a LEGEND. If Miles Davis recorded an album with you then you couldn't have been halfstepping. I love Mary Jane, Fire and Desire, Ebony Eyes, ect but for every hit Rick James came out with Prince can match that with 5-6 on his own.

It is but IMO Teena Marie made that song what it was. I don't think it's better than Adore by Prince.

Both are talented, but prince stood out more with his own style and hits

Prince can shred better on guitar then Rick, EASILY

Rick creates better hits (Give It To Me Baby, Superfreak??)

Prince is far more creative (drum machine, his style per album)

Rick is a better singer (imo)

You can't say one is better than the other, they both are talented artists with different weak/strong points. I know more of Rick Jame's stuff, but Prince is stil VERY good

I got tired of Purple Rain after hearing it 10,000 times. But Prince is a beast if you equate everything musically then compare them Prince got'em hands down

Maybe since were fans its not important who can play the guitar better or who has a better octave range.

Maybe people are basing their judgements off being entertained. Just maybe, some people like Rick Better because hes more entertaining.

I, like Rick, am from Buffalo... But I gotta say Prince hands-down. Dude is still killing it.
