great post man! so you have to establish a relationship with the artist? What if you have no way to see them? and what are ways you can see them? how do you handle business with them so that its fair??

this is one of the few threads where I read through the whole thing. i think it is very interesting

Nice...any suggestions if you're on the east coast? I live in South Jersey 10 min from Philly and 1.5 hours from NYC and I've been looking to get on a production team but I cant get any resposes. It sucks cause I'm actually really good!! I'm on youtube check me out if ya get a chance

Just out a couple of your videos. You've got talent bro, no doubt about that. You, also, need more content. I help independent artist to develop and grow in this new music industry. Is that what you're looking for in a production crew?

@ JC Thanks a lot homie I appreciate that! I just started the videos like 2 months ago so I'm definitely gonna be loading more content. Videos just take forever to make lol Basically I'm looking to get an internship on a production team with a label and/or sell my beats to someone that matters. The thing is I dont have the right resources but I'm in the right location and I have a love for music that drives me more than anything. What I hear more than anything from people that have heard my music is that they all say,"I could definitely hear this on the radio." I dont want to be an artist I just want to produce music however, I would like to songwrite. I just rap over my beats so you can get a better feel for it and I'm not that bad lol

It looks like you're already on the right track bro. It's not hard to get a intern position. I suggest interning with a well known and successful recording studio in your area. If you want to sell beats then you'll need to be in the right places at the right times. There's no better place than a professional recording studio because they stay in the music loop. You'll also want make sure that you have your business in order. It's hard to gain the confidence of others when you're not prepared. Plus, because they have a successful track record, they know something about the music business. It would be a great opportunity for you to get a crash coarse in today's music industry.

And this is the post important part of the post because its smarter to focus on what you do have control of (ex- becoming the best producer you can be) than to base your success on what you have little control of which is filled with a bunch of 'hopefully' and 'if only' etc...You don't hope for success you BUILD your own success. If you wait until you get a $50,000 check to start putting money away in your savings you may never save a penny in your life. If however you save a penny every day of your life you will have OVER $50,000 in your savings sooner than you think. Stop daydreaming about the success of Timbaland, Dre, Swizz, etc that was all built off of a old industry business model that doesn't apply to you. Instead challenge yourself to build your OWN industry so you can become 5 times more INFLUENTUAL than all of them combined!
Great Post

ahahahah! that "scenario 2" made me laugh
