reason and record is ahead of the all daw as far as stability and being user friendly and compact files. and simplicity. and the ssl mixer alone is better than all other daws on the market.

We talking about all these modules and stuff...forget that I need more export options ie; export all selected tracks as wav, or export mono wav files etc, Lol somebody gotta know what Im talking about here.
Those features are in Record doubt they will be in both. Better jump on board its about the same price as a Reason upgrade anyway. I am assuming you still own your Reason license. Then youll get a free Reason upgrade when it drops so 2 for the price of one at this point.

regardless of what they add.. it's most likely something that other software already had for years..
then when those other software update, reason going to be behind again

reason 4 came out in fall of 07, they take 3 years to upgrade, so the upgrades should be major
None of the upgrades are really "new" to the world just new to Reason and interesting the way they have been implmented but when was the last time Props has done anything really innovative before anyone else? Remote?

And tomorrow will be bananas.

i have to disagree i feel that everytime the props realeases a update because its very innovative most people dont realize that with every devices there a million and one routing capabilities to achieve a million and one fx's and sounds. most people just look at the outside instead of looking at the whole entire spectrum of reason name a vst that a daw and vst that can do what reason does without taxing your computer. name a daw that has a similar mixing board as record without using 3rd party plugins. name a daw that can take vocals and mangle and layer like the combinator with vocals. i haven't seen none because i own most of them.name a daw whose time stretch is touching record. people limit themselves to not think outside the box. which why people complain about stuff all time when it comes daws people want new updates every year and they haven't learned half of what already in the daw. or vsts for that matter. oh yeah no daw or vst has the remote feature. none of them. usually with most software you have to go through a lot of configuration just to get to function half as good as remote function.

I give up..
all I really want is vsti's
all these talks of slicing features don't really get me excited, I manually chop in adobe audition
it's not like reason is going to make me a better chop/slicer

I wan't some more sounds... I am learning to play piano, give me some sounds, give me vst

it's ok, I will stick with cubase, unlimited options in it

My dude if you want sounds man there's tons of REFILLS! They have refills with the Triton sounds, MoPhat, Roland 5080, Fantom, Motif XS etc, Sonic Reality, I mean the list goes on, Mr Gibbs got 100GB of refills  I mean how many sounds do you need? That's your VSTi right there. they are not adding that because they have mad refills.

i can pretty much created most vsts. i can litterally take all the sounds from most vsts incorporate them into reason no problem. i even have battery 3 refill with all 12gbs of drums and i even have mashine drum library and that's only about 4gbs worth of drums i have all of those. and i use them in reason no problem. i have korg legacy sounds as well as refills, i have trilogy sounds a refills as well. i havent' got omnispher yet but that will come as well just to have lol. and i'll make those refills too.

Battery 3's sounds are easy to incorporate into anything because NI didn't put that library into a proprietary format. Battery 3's library is all .wav which is a good thing. You can open it's sounds in anything. If somebody sold you or gave you a "Battery 3" refill, that's no different at all then bootlegging because all he really gave you was Battery 3's library which is exactly 12 gigs.

i bought battery 3 which on the low was a waste of money i was caught up in the vst hype before too i spent too much money on vsts and ended being bored with them after the first month because half the sounds of most of these vsts i had already within reason.

I have Battery 3 too, but I haven't opened it in a long time. I use the sounds in Live's Drum Racks. I plan on getting Record in a couple weeks. I just saw this video earlier today for the first time. It shows how you can use Reason/Record as Rewire client. This is most likely how I'll use it except I don't use Logic, I use Live:

The track is solid, I dig it also

The track in the Neptune promo video was produced by Chaka Blackmon.

I won't lie vsti are nice I also own pro tools 8 and love xpand 2 .I been trying to use pt as my main daw and rewire reason but work flow aint the same

naw...i'd stick to using pro tools just for recording...

granted, the new version DOES have some nice sounds in it...but the environment's to "sterile?" to really get creative w/ it day in and day out...

live gui sucks lol. :D

I will admit that when I first started using Live, I absolutely hated the gui, but when I really got to know the program and what it could do, it grew on me!!!!:):)

Don't even try to compare it to Reason/Record. They look like video game graphics in comparison.

(Don't take that the wrong way. That's a good thing!!!:):)

Yeah, says Ludvig...LOL Yep, I saw you KB. :)

Oh yeah, let me rephrase what I said earlier.

And tomorrow will be a Tsunami(Tidal Wave). Not Bananas.:sing:

people want new updates every year and they haven't learned half of what's already in the daw

yup...

it's a beautiful thing...

stacks and stacks of NI .wav's...

can't wait 'till battery 4 drops!

hopefully those samples won't be proprietary!!!

:bigeyes:all i can say IS DAMMMMMMMMM MR GIBBS! I am trying to figure out how these cats are turning the sounds in these hardware modules into refills, it must be some clone software to pull the sounds from them into a refill. I got refill packer if I could get that technic it's over! Hell they even got the Philharmonik for Reason/Record now  Dudes still wanting vsti's when they are right there, lol We gotta hook up and share some thangs bro you gotta put me on !

i never used the refill packer...

for those who have, is it as simple as just stuffing a folder full of .wav files and clicking "PACK" / "CONVERT"?

pretty much that simple. everything is in order to your liking and everything.

and do the danoc it simple believe it or not most of these vsti is over stuffed wav files in a sampler. not more thats why i dont see what the big deal is with vsts over hyped garbage to me. i can probably take your hollywood strings and make a refill out of that too.

yes it's easy I thought it was hard to until I read the instructions and bam! I can make my own refills and just pop them in my Refill folder open up Record and grab what I need, simple. Plus you can sell your Refills on Ebay if you do that. :victory:

For me I am going to keep my MPC and Protools, and I am not updating my PT8. Ima use that and I don't want nothing else, I have all the vst's and vsti's I need and that's when I am producing on my MPC. I keeps hardware, because if my computer goes down, I can keep rolling with my mpc and my other hardware it doesn't stop me from producing. I like the mixture of both. :)

That Neptune is killing me. Wow! Routing FX to that joint! I'm impressed. Only thing is how real can it get. Either way it's worth the purchase "now" for those who do not have a dedicated DAW.
