I DJ at parties and clubs and I take my pads with me - not only do I use it for drumming (adding extra hits to the track that's playing) but also dropping samples and such into my mix as signatures for people to remember me by. Ya know like record a sample of your DJ name that you've scratched, being said by a hot voiced girl etc. it's a great addition to your mix and people will eventually pick up on it so when u play out somewhere else they'll know it's you cos u have signatures.
then there's programming your own drum patterns and scratching to em, remixing, even using it as an effects unit etc. it's a great addition to your Dj setup - really brings your DJ rig to a whole new level.
you might not see a use for it now but it won't be long until you will be a complete gear junkie like a few of us.
Confess people - how long did the 'I'm just gonna buy 2 TT's and a mixer and I'll be complete' lasted for until u get a point where one midi controller is not enough hahaha
