Jadakiss "The Last Kiss" Sales

There's no way Def Jam bought 100,000 copies. Come on. Ok, so they maybe they copped some, but you guys seriously think they'd fork up $1 million to hype Jadakiss?

Can someone please explain this to me? How exactly would they do that? Give 100,000 ppl $10 to walk into a store and cop Jadakiss? lol jk....no seriously tho...how would they that?
 
Why would he not sell 100k? yall got the game messed up seriously lol, just cuz the kids 21 and below (no offense if you are in that range and bump kiss, props to you) aint slappin it in the ipod dont mean that the teens that were slappin jadakiss when he first came out that are now 25 and up aint checkin for his music! i swear people continue to forget the real rap fans that were the ones who were scraping up change to buy tapes n ish. Thats the 24 year old and up fan base. Im 26. I cant identify with none of the new **** or any of these new artists cuz they dont have that same appeal as the jadakisses and pacs and bigs and all them cats that was poppin when i was a teen. Im sure there are 100,000+ niggas like me out there that feel the same way, and WE WILL SPEND MONEY if they are proven artists like kiss. come on, aint sh!t else out to buy. i didnt expect the CD to cure cancer. Its better than all the other **** we been complaining about. same goes with the new em single. its not the cure to cancer, but its better than these fuks these lables been tryna package and throw at us...

nah he was actually doin similar first week numbers with the last 2 albums. Jada's fanbase it pretty solid, it'd be good to see him gold.

in the east coast 21 and below males stay bumpin kiss/d block, but not in the rst of the country/world
 
Im glad to hear that about my boy jadakiss, this is well deserve. He's been out here doing his thing for awhile and its time to get some shine off the backside of things. Congrats
 
yeah I gotta friend who stays in atalanta and he went to best buy and two other stores they said it was sold out. Kiss has a great following!

We're talking Mr. 106 n Park here.


I didn't even know Jada had an album coming out...And I live, breathe and eat this music every day of my life!




We'll see what the numbers look like next week. If his numbers decrease by like 120,000, then we'll know what happened.
 
It's not unusual to have a 60% drop in the 2nd week, but yeah if he sells 700 copies like JR Writer, then somethings up.

I would still like some sort of an explanation on how exactly a label buys 100,000 copies once the CD hits stores.

Also, I bought his last album, which went platinum...as did his first one. I'm don't think Def Jam bought these records.

man if that was true, you woulda been knew kiss had an album coming out bro. nope, i didnt see nan flyer, hear nan commercial on the radio out here in the bay area, or anything but i knew kiss had a joint coming out. and im not a jada groupie, i just love rap in general so i know when dudes got albums coming out.

i love how the game is right now though. its going in the right direction in my opinion. nope, not alot of dough in it, but that gimmick ish aint workin in '09. just last year eveybody was tryna get a ringtone poppin. what happened to that phenom?

ditto. aint no record lable finna shell out all that dough for that. yall act like its only 250,000 people in the united states and only 10,000 of them listen to music lol...and at the end of the day, its Jadakiss. The same Jadakiss that was rolling with Bad Boy and Biggie back when rap was crackin and you didnt get respect from fans unless you could rap. The guy who certified on his last 2 solos. so its not that far fetched.

it could be that they only did regional promoting, cuz i know damn well that jadakiss **** aint gonna cut it here. but they like that type of stuff over on the east coast. no sense in spending money on nation wide promotion, i dont think the def jam is that stupid lol
 
oh, i didnt see any promo out here, im in the bay area, california. i dunno, i just check for folks that i know are certified spitters above and underground
 
Jada had a very good marketing program. He put the album out a week early on huge blog sites like realtalkny.net for streaming along with a bunch of promo visits. A lot of folks like the album, he has a core fanbase, remember this is a cat a lot of folks put up with jay and nas. If gorilla zoe can sell-60k first 2 weeks jada can do 130k. Bow wow and jim jones put out Wack albums and their fans are fickle or outgrew them. Folks on the east coast been ridin hard with kiss since 96 man...

a ****in MIXTAPE?!?! lol, that people didnt even cop like that.. because it wasnt as good the other one in the series lmao..

ima jada fan.. or was, not really that much any more..
