LOL. I'm willing to bet 99.999% of the used ones will NOT have the slipmats

I know this isn't a dig, but am I the only person actually planning on buying J Dilla's "Donut Shop" record? Lol.
probably not. Im not really a Dilla fan. Which I know is a crazy because my favorite producers love Dilla but I never really did. Even after his death I only really like a couple of his beats. And dudes get mad when I say this but I hated Donuts. Everyone else screams classic I say I know he was on his deathbed but sorry fam your last effort was wack to me

New hip hop records come up used here (Chicago) real quick. I think it's from Serato ppl buyin em, rippin em, sellin em back. IDK, but it's usually real easy to get a new release on wax within a month or so.
No hate towards this album but I can wait the month. Not always the case..
why dont they catch the leaks or itunes like everyone else?

Is that Grover something with wine in the title?
I've never bought/heard any of his shit that wasn't on CTI. Let me know how it is

You're talking about Winelight? It's alright. It has that "Just the Two of Us" with Bill Withers.

I understand where you're coming from. I don't criticize other people on their tastes of producers, but I love J Dilla, not for how hot his beats were, but the creativity of what he sampled, how he chopped them, and how he put them together. The way he has chopped up some of the samples he used still baffle me on where he got the ideas for them, e.i. "Players" and "Do For Love".

shiiieeeett.. bought something dope few minutes ago. i don't have camera here at the moment tho.

one of them is some 1974 philharmonic orchestra music from czech republic.. cover looks hella ill.

I wish i had the money to dig everyday...
I go once a month...if that....
Shit changes when you have kids lol.

Im gonna start going more tho.
I swear the smell of records gets me high.

a lot of shit happens when you have kids man. My son will be a year old next week. My beat production has gone way down since then. On a good note he likes my vinyl, he likes my turntable and he tries to make beats from my lap. I will nurture him to become Preemo 2030 lol

Good to hear. It's kind of scary to think about the kids comin up these days and the lack of quality music they have to listen to.
I hope my kid(s) gets involved with my records and older music.

idk about u but I grew up in the90s i was born in the early 80s I came up on some weak music compared to what was poppin in the 70s you gotta show these kids the classic shit and make them appriciate it but if hes anything like his mother he will say this is cool it sounds good but it sounds old

Ya, I was born in '86. I was brought up listening to late 60s-late 70s music and have always had, and always will have, an appreciation for it.
I could probably count the artists I listen to (non hip hop) who made music after like 1980 on both hand LOL.

i was born in 87.. i grew up listening the music my father listened to... he had huge vinyl collection of rock / heavy music. uriah heep, van halen, pink floyd, etc etc.... hell, when i was in first grade at school i had this iron maiden jacket i would wear everyday. all the other kids and teachers we're like "whaaat!?!"

that's the type of music i grew up it basicly.. it was cool. but needles to say im into some other type of ish nowadays.

that's cool xabiton, your son will most likely follow your footsteps if he spends so much time with your equipment. let me know when he's ready to battle me. ;)

I was born in '92, but I grew up listening to the music my father listened to, especially my mother's reggae albums since I'm half Jamaican. Crate digging has expanded my knowledge of good music and has even reunited me with some of the older songs that my father used to listen to, but I never knew the names, lol.

I love the feeling of finding some ish I remember my pops listening too.

he spends about 20 minutes a day on beats. Thats not a lot but hes 11 months old he has no attention span lol. And you are lucky my pops wasnt around so I only heard the crap my mom listened to. She was a teenage mom so it was that 80 soul. Some of it was cool hell Im flippin some 80s soul right now but most of it was not worth my time lol

And Junior says bring it on. Dont get beat by a baby!!

The funny thing is, when I come home from crate digging and go to my room to listen to them, my father will come upstairs and go through my digs and see what I got, lol.
