I am 26 years old my mom comes over here to play with the baby and still looks in my digs. Last week she asked me why am I listening to elevator music and who is Carmen Mcrae. I laughed and told her thats the "elevator music" you are referring to. She calls all jazz elevator music

I love jazz, you can get the best trumpet and saxophones samples from jazz records. I just bought 17 records the other day and 5 of them are jazz. One of the 5 is Chuck Mangione "Live At The Hollywood Bowl".

he spends about 20 minutes a day on beats. Thats not a lot but hes 11 months old he has no attention span lol. And you are lucky my pops wasnt around so I only heard the crap my mom listened to. She was a teenage mom so it was that 80 soul. Some of it was cool hell Im flippin some 80s soul right now but most of it was not worth my time lol

The funny thing is, when I come home from crate digging and go to my room to listen to them, my father will come upstairs and go through my digs and see what I got, lol.

Yea! My father does the same exact thing. Or he'll be like, "I don't think you're going to like that album". Haha.

My father didn't even give me his records, I just went to the garage and took them. Him and my mother only had a few LPs, but there's still a box filled with 45s that I have yet to check out. I've been procrastinating on checking them out because I'm not too much of a fan of 45s.

sounds like me. My mother kept all of my grand dads vinyl well when I started digging she gave them to me and told me to make her copies of everything I looked at that big ass vaccum cleaner box full of records and said yeah right. Seriously this box was like 4 feet high and 2 feet wide full of vinyl and most of that shit was scratched to high hell. I sold most of it I regret it now but I got about $50 for it that I used to buy non destroyed vinyl

yo, there are some really tight things...

Yea, most of my father's records were really good and others were just straight up garbage. Like, old twist and shout kind of records.

Very random, I just finished making this dust cover for my Mpc. Flying Lotus is my favorite producer so I made it as a tribute to him.

lol i am keeping them. they make my collection look thicker but i may listen to them:rofl:

Haha very well. My collections kind of small as of now, only 45 records.

i'm somewhat new to the sample game, but i figured i'd start digging and collecting (and sampling from vinyl, obviously)...always a little surprise going through vinyls and coming across an old classic you forgot about or getting something completely random because of the wild artwork...

i cant make out all of the pics and for some reason when i click the pic i get a blank screen care to tell us what ones u copped. I recognize Thriller (billie jean is my favorite break ever) and I recognize that Earth Wind And Fire. but none of the others. Welcome to the world of digging its fun and can be vastly rewarding.

This is the stack of my father's 45s that I'm going through, lol.
