TonyG shyt on sites like PMP

Its all about organizing/aggregating the content in the best way for the consumer:

Organize the rumors/gossip in 1 location: TMZ/Perez Hilton/Mediatakeout

Organize the latest entertainment drama visually: Worldstar/Vlad Tv

Organize the latest general happenings in the hip hop world: Nahright/All Hip Hop/Hip Hop Game

Tech world: Techcrunch

Politics: Huffington Post

Quality production: PMP


Again, this is about what is best for the CONSUMER! In order for Troup's new site to be successful (or at least have a level of impact) it will largely depend on him giving his consumer base a aggregated experience based on their WANTS AND NEEDS!

Now as far as the difference between having a popular website and having a successful online BUSINESS, that's another topic for another day.

Producers have to start looking at themselves as running a BUSINESS instead of a person that does 'beetz' looking for a come up to save them, that's DEAD!
 
I actually googled what people had to say about PMP and even though I don't produce enuff music to keep many joints long enuff to put on PMP (since i really just work for projects right now), and with all the dope-ness i've heard since june (like i predicted) It's obvious that spreading your exposure somewhere other than on recorded projects is important. I think what you guys are missing out on is that, marketing yourself isn't up to a website with high traffic but up to your knowledge of projects in process. Find out who's doing what and submit with your best based on there previous history. Talk to them personally or reachout to the inside lane guy and A&R your own stuff. It's not a big deal to get told "not what I'm looking for" by the artist but it is when you got some buffer(A&R) telling you who they got on there roster of producers and they'll "see what they can do" so they can under promise and over charge for a phone call and email to the same person. If your tracks are dope and your not using a manager that has a good information dump in place then being a part of a track dump you might as well be in a gangbang with 50 dudes try'n to hump one chick.

Let's be clear here FP, were here to discuss the process of music from all angles but tunnel vision is the result way too often. I'm listen'n to alot of what we say on here lately and FP seems alil more grown up right now since people are gett'n there shyt off but that's cause they worked all winter and got ready(H&R is a great example). Where's our Youtube channels guys? Where's everyone's beat tapes going except a thread? A few guys get it but alot of people are just commenting? Why? If your not doing anything then focus and research your genre and find your opportunity.

Track dumps are a mess, we already know that through commonsense but for a A&R to tell you that and it be a shock is a SHOCK. I love to get inside info i could use but damn fellas, why be so naive? Were all trying/wanting/hoping to get right. Hip Hop is not the same, nore is the possibilities to get in thru conventional means. Again, find an artist, do your projects and get it pop'n in your own rights.
 
What's so hard about all of this? Great post! Legal needs to write a damn book.

Its cool to agree to disagree, this thread has now run its course (for me at least) and now its time to move to the next topic!
 
Regardless of the fact Legal Dollarz, when PMP first started, they intentionally misled many wanna be producers into thinking that they would shop their beats around or make sure that their material be heard by industry personnel. For this they nor you will ever have my respect. You have good view points today but then you were a part of this bullshyt and stood by it.

Isnt this the same person that said the PMP has 30,000 producers and doesn't even understand what the site is about? Since when did kids begin to think speaking out of ignorance is cool? Regardless of what your perspective is (which is based off not logic but blind hate) the fact is TonyG from G Unit admitted that he got beats off the PMP. End of debate. But if you want to keep giving the PMP publicity by talking their brand up then proceed, Im sure they will appreciate your effort lol.

LD basically drops info regularly and basically tells you what needs to be done in order to be successful today, and you call that propaganda?
