I've spend some time looking but i can't find it. Do you remember what he said or if everybody's agreed on something?
yeah, in a nut shell he said... PMP drops a ton of beats at onetime...the other site he uses(cant recall the name) drops 30 at a time and that easier to deal with(filter to perfection)... He's gotta get his commission so expect that and he spend 400 a week on grooming so make hot beats so i can live this life style... his show is on ustream every wednesday round 9-10 pm est... dude was cool but yayo be on there giv'n great feedback...

Let me see what google ads has to say about him!

I'm not laughing at Rehh Dogg no more...

Apparently he has 15 albums and has sold 75,000 copies. :(

but @ the same time, doesn't backend money such as publishing mainly apply to the artist that has surpassed the "selling cd's from his car trunk" / "hand-to-hand" stage?

i mean, the producer wouldn't be making "publishing" money on a cd that was sold on the streets...

BUT if the record happens to actually get "picked up and PUBLISHED", THEN backend money starts to factor in...right?

in other words...should "street" music hustlers be concerned with publishing in any form?

You're kinda answering your own questions, but I admire your curiosity.

Unless the street hustlers are gonna get their music onto avenues that publishing can be tracked on, then you won't get anything, so focus on your advance in those situations.

Keep your publishing as well. They probably won't know about it anyway, but just put it the contracts, the split sheets, and the copyright forms just in case a song blows up.

In my experience, the street hustlers have never tried to rob my publishing. They don't know what the **** it is.

I've had my mechanicals bought out before tho by a semi street semi legit indie, but I negotiated a threshold. Basically, if that wack ass album sells more than 75,000 units, I get my mechanicals retroactively. Not holding my breath.

We can't let this thread die!!!
There's too much at stake.

Most of the producers here really suck!!!! I'm talking about their 'music'. You can tell that they are not serious, that this is what they do when they get high or drunk. Or they are just kids who watched too much tv. People need to listen to their music with honest ears. If you are just beginning and you know you 'need work' embrace that and learn. Practice and work on getting better, don't pretend you are the sht and waste everyone's time. Or rape someone's ear. In other words, don't be like this kid:

lmaooo

Dude continues to get shyted on.

I'm honestly honest with self-evaluation.
Making beats for almost 5 years and just now I feel confident that I can put my stuff out there.
Sometimes I think I'm too hard on myself because if I made 10 beats today, less than 5 would be good enough.

Post a link.

I always give honest critiques (according to what I like), If I think it stinks... I say so, if it's good... I'll say it's bangin'. My word is not law... but I'm pretty accurate sometimes...

I know a few people that should get off of PMP until their skill level increases... but I would get called a hater if I told them that.

Once I get on my PC I'll upload a couple of beats to myspace.
No beats on the MacBook
