I can say this tho, you PMP reps, you never answered my question directly about filtering track dumps. You don't do it. When you start to filter them, let the world know.

I can't believe he's still talking about this. He's really mad because he doesn't know whether PMP filters the track dumps.
And I'm not exactly sure why it matters to him, since he's already stated that he'll never use the system.
But since he wants to do face to face networking, come on over to IndustrySound.com in a little bit. We'll give you the direct contact numbers of industry A&R's and keep it constantly updated for $4.99 / month...
...maybe. I'm not exactly sure if that's a service I wanna offer yet.

The same reason they 'watch' any other site that is related to the music business that either has a decent amount of eye balls and/or the participants/purpose is having an effect on the definition of the business. You have to stay abreast of the industry your operating with, which is largely re-ogranizing online (before - Tower Records/after - iTunes)

The goal of PMP, and this is really just my assumption, is to give ALL producers an equal chance at getting their product heard. Who are they (PMP) to deem what is good and what is not? In my opinion that would go beyond PMP's scope of work.
Another man's trash may be another man's treasure. If PMP does filter submissions, they are doing their subscribers an injustice. Discarding submissions due to quality, or overall preference, is the duty of the A&R AND NOT PMP...or any other producer/placement based company for this matter.

Keep in mind that in the last Ustream the TonyG guy admitted that he already got beats off the PMP as a A&R so to say it doesn't work for him (for the sake of trying to validate the other site that PAYS him) only makes him look hyprocritcal and foolish. Its ok to get paid, that's what the business is about but at least have a bit of integrity in your approach or else all credibility is loss.

Because its part of the redefinition of the music business (not the music INDUSTRY which is a antiquated concept in itself) and with any change comes a level of acceptance and a level of resistance. Those that are using the Internet ONLY as a way to gain entrance back into a dying business is living in 1998, those that see the Internet as a means to build a core audience by utilizing tools that help enchance their RELEVANCY and CREDIBILITY are living in 2009, those that see the Internet as a way to build a NEW INDUSTRY and redefine the business is living in 2011, ahead of the curve on the cutting edge.
