Why Do Dr Dre's Drums Sound Louder Than Everything Else

Just downloaded it. I used it but I can't notice any difference really? It sounds the same to me.
 
I know i been tried inverting and it never sounded any different with these plugins. Be carefull with these plugins, especiall the hicontort and abyss. That saturation effect they have on somethings can fool u into thinking its making the sound full and warm but it may actually be muddying of the sound beyond repair.

Gating the snare will do it more justice.

all that info coming from a dude that can tell somebody they music sounds harsh around 8k 12k on some laptop speakers. boy stop! homeboy got his laptop speakers and wal mart $20 sony monitor style headphones figured out for ever mix. hops in his momma car, pops cd in, and gets cussed out for messing with his momma eq and balance. muddy mixing ass. you a super hero with yo chest stuck out and arms bent. to bad you cant fly.

The FL mixer has everything you need built into the 3 band EQ in each channel. Look at the knobs below the sliders.

What happened to this thread since I left? It was so positive just a day ago. lol.

look, its not that hard, heres the thing....why emulate dres style? cuz guess what? your not going to be able to. because simply, your style is not that of dres. The best advice i can give is understand compression, eq, vol, and panning. sample some drums from vinyl, so its fresh, no compression has been added, then you can compress and eq the drums the way that would best be taylore to your style, theres no tutorial you need follow, just use your ears, man! i actually agree with derranged on this one when he says its pretty much as easy as vol and pan, and to use your ears, as derranged said, its not rocket science, its music, you think pink floyd contimplated this much on creating new sounds? no! they just went with what worked fot them... and plus they were high out of their mind, but thats aniother story

here is my contribution, go to a professioal studio that has a bunch of diferent pres to use, record drum hits with each pre and diferent mic placements, take them 24 bit sounds and layer them ****s ( not with compessed drums from kits). im sure the engineer will help you suceed at what you want accomplished.

here is something else i hope is helpful to someone, in reason, make sure each of your drums and percs are in its own mixer channel with only the top or left cable connected (mono). do your bass and other live instruments the sameway. that gives your wide fx crazy ass stereo sounds room to breathe.

one more thing, whatever you have now is good enough, dont get stuck in the phase of thinking it's not because dre does it a certain way, after he gets his sounds the way he wants them from the very begining, he is basicly doing what you are doing minus the online purchased dre kits, bad acoustics, and untrained ears. kick sampled off of other **** tend to be already compressed with a mess of hats and other ****, eq all you want, that **** is still in there. listen to a dre drum kick in a song, you hear straight kick drum thump with no persevatives.
best advice, go to a professional studio and see what you are missing.
