(nice n short this time)

FL Studio, everything in one. When it comes to just chopping up songs & samples Soundforege is king of the hill.

I'm a fl man myself. direct wave, fruity slicer, edison who could ask for anything more

hmmm FL is gettin alot of love here! perhaps i will give it a try. but damn i got so good with reason it would be a shame to waste all that knowledge.

With the Nu Fl Studio coming out with the Slicex some nu possibilities could open up and problems addressed that make it some tough competition for other sampling programs

This prolly sounds dumb but i had no idea u could actually sample within fruityloops...i just cut mine up wit cool edit and drag the sample into fruity loops

Either way works well. Reason+Recycle for me though. Reason just gives me more of a hands on feel when it comes to mixing, choosing sounds, and various effects. When the sample is loaded into reason, each slice is automatically mapped out across your keyboard. You cant beat that to me.

FL is king when it comes to sampling. hell you can even use Recycle with it.
FL Studio
Mpd24
Recycle...nothing is more powerful!
i do want that Mpd32 though..sexy lol

For those that love FL and haven't tried using Ableton Live should really try it.

The ability to slice your samples up into midi slices is so easy. Just load your sample, right click, select "Slice to Midi", select how you want to slice it, 1 bar, 1/4, 1/16, 1/32 and then bam your samples are then mapped to your midi controller. That simple.

The ability to use Recycle and Battery as vst's are just as simple, but not needed because with Ableton you have the Impulse and Drum racks where you can build your own drum machine but just dragging and dropping and then saving your presets.

The Sampler and Simpler features are amazing as well. The Audio and Midi effects can be used to create some ill ish.

The ability to jump between Session view (Clips) and Arrangement view brings a new meaning of creating songs. I personally like the Session View with clips which allows me to practice creating Live music. I want to get into creating live production on stage. Something like Thavius Beck does.

What I like about Ableton is the ability to use your laptop or desktop keyboard as your midi controller. I'm not sure if you can do that with FL Studio or not because I haven't messed with it, but being able to mash out beats with your laptop keyboard is real dope especially if you are not around your midi controller or mpc. Say you are in the library or airport you can still create beats without having to actually paint the notes you can bang them out by using your keyboard. Very convienent.

If you are a Reason/Pro Tools user you can just rewire Ableton into those sequencers if you like and grab sounds that these sequencers have that Ableton don't. The options are endless.

yeah you can use your keyboard as a controller in FL Studio

I said FL, even though i use reason. Mostly because it has more features (that i don't need nor want), it's all in one (i don't care but it's nice), and it's cheaper. There isn't anything I do in reason that FL can do, as far as i know, so it's technically better. But, i just prefer reason, i've been using it forever.

However, recycle 2.0 is so dope outside of the software relm. If you aren't using hardware, recycle isn't that tight over what FL has. If you are, Recycle itself is so nice. Add reason on top of that and recycle and reason blows FL away in what it can do.

Well in this forum im truly torn, I use Live, Reason , and FL and i have to say, I make my street ish best in FL, im the most creative in Live and reason songs has the best Synths inside the Box. If i would have to say which one is the best for me I wouls have to say Live because it pushes me more each time i open it, thats why i voted other, Live.

(the reason recycle combo is missing a 3rd part) levlove what do you mean by this words?

(the reason recycle combo is missing a 3rd part) what do you mean by 3rdpart levlove or what this word mean plz help

Glad u asked. The 3rd part, is the 3rd app u need to actually record some audio. The 2 apps are great together, but neither will actually record audio in, so u need a 3rd party app to do the actual recording. For me it's Audition or Live, both of which negate the need for Recycle to me (especially once i get Live 7), but since i been had it, i still use it from time to time. Audition and nnxt can do the samething(s) and more, then recycle and dr.rex.(i'm aware that u can load rex files in nnxt/nn19/redrum aswell, i'm just makin an apples2apples comparison for the sake of this argument) Basically the audio recording is the 3rd part i was referring to. Hope that clarifies things.

Chicitybeats, y not create urself a Live template with Reason and FL rewired to it, that way u can work in any and all of them at the same time. The possiblities are endless! I'm not even gonna touch upon some of the wild templates and patches i've created while havin beat block.

Akai controllers suck! Buggy as phuck, phantom CC msgs and a whoppin 4 banks, WOW! Thats faux note repeat function is nothin like the real note repeat. And whats with that wack product specialist dude on thier site? he doesn't make me wanna buy any of that crap. Ole fake azz mike acosta wanna be.
ok, i feel better now. I'm playin, but that dude on the mpd32 is sux for real. The japanese guy on the "creatakeys" video is more fun to watch then this guy. Plus he made hotter drum patterns. "dis is a rrrock n rrroll"

The korg padkontrol kills the mpd series
