reason users why use two programs to sample when you can use 1??? FL ALL DAY OUT HERE. BTW I havent spent the time to learn to use Slicex with is an incopprperated recycle like program b/c theres already so many other viable options for sampling in FL.
I am not saying you are wrong by any means, i recommend FL to most people if they are starting out, even though i'm a hardcore reason user.

However, recycle (2.0) is a very powerful tool on it's own. You can do alot more with it than just chop up samples for reason or other software. It's great with hardware as well to do many things easily with old gear and new.

reason and recycle for me. i process the sample using audacity, chop it in recycle and then send that all to the nnxt.
but to get the most out of reason, u need to know a bit about hardware ie. wiring equipment as reason's defaults are pretty ****.
hopefully, reason 5 will have support for audio and recycle will be integrated

reason for me. word. i doubt its the easiest, but it works the best for what i been tryna do. word.

FL all day every day. I can't imagine not being able to time stretch inside my Daw

You cant sample in reason, you need recycle. plus they do the same.

my post still stands, Live 7 all day. i'd revise it, but i don't feel like it. with drumracks/slice to new midi track, it's even better. but to be fair, i've been "sending to new slicer channel" in FL since version 3, samething, FL been had it, Live just got it. but still Live all day, just because "slice to new midi track" and drumracks makes it easier to apply efx on a per slice basis than FL does with the routing to the mixer and all that.

the only thing problem with this that i see, (it wasn't a problem for me) is that FL sugarcoats a lot of stuff, so unless you grasp the basic concepts behind everything, the skills you learn on FL don't transfer over well, if you find yourself in a situation where the equipment is there, but not FL. yes, it has sequencing, synths, samplers, a mixer, efx and all that, but the way some of the stuff is implemented, just knowing FL leaves you at a disadvantage when you find yourself on a rig that doesn't have FL. i'm not sayin this is the case with all FL users, i obviously didn't have this problem, i learned alot from FL, but it wasn't til i was able to get my hands on other equipment and saw that the same things go on in FL as does on other equipment, hard or soft. still a good program tho.

If you actually know how to count beats, any wave editting program will do.

i ****s with magix...i mean i use reason too to sample with only cause i like the nnxt....i just got fl studio 8( wow what a load of crap) so ima learn how to use it to sample, but outside of the drum thingy the sounds are like the gayest i ever heard...Ima go with reason over fl studio 8 till i learn it better... i just got it like 1 day ago,and dont plan to use it really outside of the lil **** i post up here..

so if any 1 wanna get at me and show me a thing or 2 about fl studio im down...

Akai controllers suck! Buggy as phuck, phantom CC msgs and a whoppin 4 banks, WOW! Thats faux note repeat function is nothin like the real note repeat. And whats with that wack product specialist dude on thier site? he doesn't make me wanna buy any of that crap. Ole fake azz mike acosta wanna be.
ok, i feel better now. I'm playin, but that dude on the mpd32 is sux for real. The japanese guy on the "creatakeys" video is more fun to watch then this guy. Plus he made hotter drum patterns. "dis is a rrrock n rrroll"

The korg padkontrol kills the mpd series
