I don't think I would ever join PMP so I'm not gonna contact them. Like I said before I don't care about FP fame. I was trying to be helpful. I'm not disrespecting you in any way.

Honestly your logic doesn't even make sense. I know where you stand with PMP so why would I want to go back and forth with you? This thread is for the rest of FP and for ppl who may be considering signing up with one of many producer sites.

Ok. So state your opinion and keep my name out of it. Because my name has nothing to do with your opinion.

I brought your name up so you wouldn't catch feelings, but you still did. I don't care about FP fame. Look at how infrequently I post on here.

So are you trying to tell me that pmp DOES filter the track dumps? If so, let it be known then. I think that's valuable information ppl need to know.

He's an A&R for G-Unit. He also manages a few producers and says he's got 22 placements for them so far this year (I didn't verify this claim).

Musicplacements is the same, except that I believe they won't accept your membership if you suck. After that, I don't know if they filter the crap out again, but according to TonyG, they do. He says they bring about 15 beats a week to the labels.

I'm not endorsing that site...I'm just repeating what I heard him say. Some ppl that missed it may wanna know.

Co-sign bro. I see placements as a supplement to what you just said. Say you get 2 placements at $5000 in one year. Big fukkin deal. That's $10,000 upfront. Who knows how much backend you'll get and when you'll get it. You gonna live off $10 Gs for that year? lol
10g's...what's that...lol Most of us are luck to see 5,000 off music but it's nothing to invest that much... Maybe an A&R will grow into there own and start the new industry model with contacts intact and support from his peers. The new big wig could've been Dame if he wasn't such a a$$. Eitherway tho. Give it till '10 and we'll see the big picture. As for now, it's the free for all it should be. Kaios always breats a new kinda beast to bring back order. Whatever it is lets just hope it's worth being a part of cause 360 deals are soul snatchers. I'd rather be happy in my '05 Audi then be miserable in a '11 Maybach.

Noyzi, that's what I'm saying. Placements should be seen as supplementary income to new producers, cuz we get treated real bad.

I would get a pmp account if there was a screenin FIRST.. but there isnt .. anybody could get an account on pmp and submit for these track dumps... meanin every a&r that uses PMP has to go thru a million wack beats before hearing something they could work with UNLESS they have a team that filters the wackness.. BUT THEY DONT SAY THAT so........

nah i heard they do filter it but since i cant verify it...i shouldnt even bring it up lol

truth is they do put the spotlight on the heavy hitters and promote them in emails to people with buyers accounts
they also promote your tracks on the front page if you get alot of views or have something going on with your tracks (placement, completed projects, etc)

might not be a filter but it does mean the right people can find what theyre looking for alot easier/faster than just going through all the submissions from track dumps

yep, TonyG or whoeva can have there opinion but it's about what the masses are doing that determines what they do so if people are making hits off PMP found tracks and not rocbattle or wherever then that's what he might have to do. as for now, that was a safe comment cause "He's too busy", doing what? who knows and honetly, if it doesn't make it easier for me to get a placement...who cares...

i would edit that part out TROUP.. he has an account here and he in a position where he can black ball the helll outtta you...

Total *****-ass-ness right there!!!

I swear some of you dudes suck so much industry dick it's disgusting. When will you youngsters learn these 'industry cats' don't run ****? You should NEVER censor yourself or water down what you stand for just to please some industry nigga. The days of A&Rs and industry insiders dangling a carrot in front of a mule (inspiring artist and producers) is over with. It's time you niggas grow some ****ing balls.

You control your destiny.

PMP really shytted on themselves allowing all those wack ass producers to clog the track dumps. Do you know how many tracks they have to go through to listen to every single one, take a guess, LOL. Ten of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, so look at how much material is never even heard. Now, when it comes down to TonyG, I respect the cat a whole lot, from day one, he told everybody how the A&R and music industry game works, the good and the bad. He didn't sugar coat anything and try to make it seem all diamonds and pearls. PMP is a scam, who knows if they are even shopping the beats around that they choose and how hard are they doing so. Even producers like Timbo, Kayne, and Dre have to shove their tracks down the throats of artists to get sells so some one sitting on their ass at a computer scene counting money all day without meeting face to face with artists and labels can't do shyt that you can do.

WTF? I'm not saying kiss anyone ass for anything however a lot of people write checks that their ass can't cash. Personally, I don't think TonyG is the blackballin type, besided why would he have to blackball somebody that ain't even got a hair follicle in the game, LOL. Like it or not, TonyG is connected to G-Unit records and them cats are major so respect the fact that he trying to give back to the game unlike PMP who brainwashes wannabes into giving them money for nothing.

pmp doesnt shop beats.
never have they claimed to

their job isnt getting you placements at all either
they never guarantee sales
its simply to promote your music

the catch with pmp is that alot of eyes are on the site who NEED music for projects
so you have a better chance of making a connection to some one who is looking to work (vs a myspace or a soundclick)

for example
a while back me and fokus sold a beat that more than paid off for our pmp subscriptions

im not saying that to brag cuz obviously we're not rich and or famous yet
but i wanted to try to verify that it is possible to use pmp to get your foot in the door, build your brand, and let people know you exist

Not to be a douche, but I wasn't talking to you. I specifically quoted Charlie's post.

Secondly, let's get this straight right now, there is no such thing as 'black balling' or 'black listing' someone. There are TOO MANY avenues in this business to do such a thing. There are more opportunities to generate money now more than EVER.

Now if your chasing that 'magical:rolleyes:' major placement...than your probably going to tip-toe lightly and Bruno a few penises along the way. That's if your chasing...

im guessin by the tone of your reply you made it already.. but you gotta understand some of us just gettin heard after mad years of producin / beatmakin... and at the end of the day its a game and you gotta know how to play it to get on.... if i was to tell every contact i have how wack they are (and i really do think they wack! )and have that "oh i dont need nobody to make it attitude" i would never get on.. it aint about what u know now and days its about "WHO YOU KNOW".. aint no dickridin or no bitcchhassness... u just gotta know how to choose your battles... specially when you goin off on a&rs which have the key to the game and could be real pricks... but u already know to each its own .. do what best works for u my nigg..

Understand ya DjayCas. Now back to Dot Robinson, there is no such thing a black ballin in the music industry??? LOL, from that statement alone I know you've been talking to the wrong people and have no idea about how the music industry works, LOL. You know, some producers even pay artists to use their beats on an album, what you know about that.

And that's where the definition of 'getting on' is distorted beyond recognition. This is a business. You don't need anyone, industry wise, to make noise for yourself. Making great music, promoting your music, and gaining fans is still the foundation of ANY artist's career. With technology and a great work ethic, you CAN do ANYTHING by yourself...for yourself.

I've stopped playing the kiss ass game long ago...but that's just me.

Check out the new song while your here:

Remove the "B".

By the way, if you willing to take stick to get rich then that's own you and ain't got nothing to do with me.

And from this post alone, I can tell your reading and comprehending isn't as sharp as I thought it would be.

Music is everywhere bro. Albums are just a FRACTION of the possible revenue stream.

Funny how you diss the Majors but yet your music sounds just like them, you can't make it without them with that kind of music, the industry is already flooded with that wanna be T-Pain autotune shyt.

It's called comprehension by the way. Music is everywhere for sure but the money damn sure ain't.
