It was from a live stream that a caught about 10 mins of.

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/tonygnyc

That's the link...kinda useless tho.

And that's really interesting...so Sha Money and them do use PMP? They actually go thru the track dumps?

About the established producers...not really sure they NEED pmp. They could just go directly. I'm pretty sure people like Jim Jonsin are on there for promotional purposes.

If Jim Jonsin and the other endless amount of established producers are on the PMP for promotional purposes then why arent they NOT on the musicplacement site or any of other sites that claim to be music placement services?? Maybe the producers on the PMP understand that the most important thing at this point for a producer is keeping their brand relevant and they're doing it on the PMP. The truth is the producer game is moving on from the traditional definition and only those that are trying to sell producers on the PAST will have a problem with a PMP

chances are some of the established producers are on PMP to sell tracks to upcoming artist. I know many established producer who make some extra cash selling their b-list tracks to upcoming artist with a smaller budget.

I don't think Jim Jonsin pays for or maintains his account. It's dual promo for both the site and him, but more for the site (it adds an air of credibility). I'm sure he's promoting himself to movers and shakers constantly in person.

Some of the smaller "big" producers could be doing what D.Wells just mentioned.

The thing that I wanna uncover is whether or not the track dumps get filtered or if they are filled with thousands of random beats. I also wanna know how PMP pushes the product, if at all, to the labels.

For me, the $50 a month is too steep. I'm doing this for ppl who are seriously considering PMP as an option.

Lol @ using other's name to get attention.

Oh. And lol at this thread.

IndustrySound.com is coming soon.

The value of the PMP is always going to be found in our users (buyers and producers). The caliber of our users is out front and available for anyone to experience whenever they wish. Whether or not an A&R chooses to use their PMP account or how they use it is entirely up to them.

The success of the PMP community is pretty evident, there are quite a few easily referenced examples of producers who are growing in the game that choose to utilize the site to do business and we appreciate that fact a great deal. There are also examples of newer names like Frank E, Team Green, Trap Camp and Youngfyre that are shinin pretty bright right now. We also got a few legends mixed in there...

The PMP is primarily about the business of production and how it moves forward. The entire concept of "placements" is tied to a failed retail product while most of the real revenues are in licensing and publishing, even though you don't hear enough about the latter income streams. Give yourselves more credit than that, if you're a producer why limit your business focus to just one area, thats sort of why we developed the PMP (if you get what I'm sayin)

Jim Jonsin financial arrangement with the PMP is irrelevant unless your more concerned about the next man's wallet than what's best for your production business. The fact is the PMP is the only site I know of where established producers have setup their product branding at which is vital because its about creating a home for quality production, not chasing a failed music industry system for a couple of crumbs remaining on the table. The very concept of a 'producer placement' is on its way out with the FAILURE of the CD album format (nearly a 45% decline from 4 years ago) so what you have is producer's having no choice but to look BEYOND the major label system to help establish and maintain their brand utilizing the Internet. Do people really understand what this music business is about in 2009 because if you don't first get your knoweldge game up before you question anything. The very concept of a major label A&R means very little in a day where creative development is non existent. The game is moving on, the online platforms that provide the highest quality of music for the buying community will run the business.

1. I got a fine ass chick asian chick i just banged sleeping in the other room.

2. troup, u ain't got no manners. I would knock your ***** ass out if i ever saw u in real life.

3. I agree with pretty much everything said by everyone here.

4. I don't give a **** about producer sites.

5. I was doing this for ppl who may be concerned, so stop attacking me personally.

6. **** this shyt. I'm out. This is why FP always drives ppl away. I was trying to help some ppl out by being a messenger, yet you decide to shoot me. Why would you attack me? Address the issue WHICH YOU NEVER DID. ANSWER THE FUKKING QUESTIONS!!!

DOES PMP FILTER THE FUKKING BULL****T TRACK DUMPS OR NOT????? DO YOU PUSH THE PRODUCT TO THE LABELS PERSONALLLY OR NOT????

That's what the issue was. The issue was never the state of the industry. That's not what we're discussing in this thread.

I came back to this thread to make sure I wasn't being overly hard on anyone, but I gotta say...I know u are THE Legal Dollaz...and u are pretty much a god on these forums. I have learned a LOT from you. I have a lot of respect for you so don't take what I'm about to say as a diss in any way BUT: Why is PMP important? Does the average listener give a ****? No. The site is intended for producers and A&Rs which supposedly is the "old business model." If the old model is so 2003, what is the relevancy of PMP? At the end of the day, it's a site that is banking off producers chasing a placement. So please...I understand what you are saying....and u r correct, BUT the topic is not about that. It's about the sites, like PMP, who take money from up and comers who are chasing dreams. So let's have Abom respond to this and see what he has to say.

Abom, please answer the direct issues. Don't give philosophical answers. Let's get real.

And I in no way mean what I'm about to type as a diss. Just want you to think about this...

PMP doesn't promise you music placements...TonyG downplays PMP to support a paysite called "musicplacements.com" that from what I observe has a waaaayyyyyyyy lower ammount of "successful placement stories". If memory serves correct, they all hype about landing a Jim Jones mixtape song.

So wouldn't PMP if anything else be the lesser of 2 evils(hypothetically speaking)?

I don't pay none of these dudes so...but I did give PMP a chance, and will say it works for those who it works for. But if anyone should be under a scope right now(not saying anyone should, just getting you to thinking), wouldn't it be the ones who are actually promising placements and not delivering over the ones who promise an atmosphere to network and give you just that?

Let the fights begin!!!!

This sht is funny to me!

To me musicplacements is a joke. Talking about dipset placements lol. Ppl can do that thru myspace...they'll still get f'd over by dipset

PMP is more credible to me BUT...I wouldn't fork over $50 a month with them being so ambiguous about the questions I've brought up...I'm gonna reserve final judgement until Abom answers tho...he seems to be directly affiliated with them.

PS. D.Wells, u wanna promote the boxing matches? lol
