FP... Help this dude out...^^^You bytched out. I knew u would. Sorry sack of shyt.
Everyone controls what they see and that's the feat that needs to be overcome.
bring the masses to you from multiple outlets verse using the most popular producers with the most popular sound
^^Look hoe, I don't sample. If u sked say u sked. And wtf u keep talking about beat jacking 4, LOL, nice excuse. You can't make a beat without sampling muthafutha?
solid post...
but @ the same time, what about focusing on your niche audience as opposed to "everyone / everybody"?
50% or 30% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
Split the pie, let everyone eat, and overall, you will eat more.
Besides, creating a team will keep you sharp. You can bounce ideas off eachother and light a fire under each other's asses instead of getting beat block and becoming lazy. I think music made by ppl jamming usually comes out hotter than **** made by 1 person.
he actually did...i think its ten pages back what people wrote about it... he didn't elaborate alot but he did make himself clear about the pmp thing and how he see's it... it was good info none the less...
I agree that we both don't understand each other completely. I didn't say the "practice of music business still applies". I said that basically the rules of the game change over time (AND periodically) in a manner that can be used to predict a future change or the evolution itself.
oh. it's "not even relevant anymore". so what is TODAY? what will be TOMMOROW? the name changed "myspace", "youtube", "twitter", etc...
what else changed? that's my whole point. not much. big conglomerates are being formed between companies and at some point, even BIGGER companies eat them.
sure. and the musicians in the UK really wanted for samplers to be banned, because they feared they'd lose their jobs. what will happen to same musicians, when Melodyne DNA comes out? not much. you can buy the best string library out there, but that won't teach you how to play the violin. not much will change. there will be a couple who will profit from said technology.
you (correctly) see the internet bubble-disaster being repeated all over again........but now with the music biz (and its "working class").
the over-head that these producers created was counter-productive.
just like the CEOs thought back then - the income stream will never end. "this is the Golden Age and it won't end".
all of them make the same mistake. an evolution sometimes is followed by an revolution. even if some delay is being introduced. and I think the time for a musical revolution is near. it just didn't happen YET. and that's what most are thinking.
talking shyt about someone else work lol which I call "free promotion"
on top of that, people have to realize what you dont like someone else will like...
