Super Secret MIXING/MASTERING Info!

If something sounds harsh, find the frequency or tool to take away some of the harshness. If the sound if giving you a certain feeling, add that feeling through the way you mix the record.

Certain frequencies give something feelings when boosted. You have to develop your ears to hear certain things and I think the point of the post is that idea.

new age twaddle - your body may resonate at certain frequencies given that they will have lengths similar to individual wavelengths but that does not mean that the frequencies have a relationship to feelings or that they are causing your mind to react to the resonances

New age twaddle? Lol I know of a handful of professional mix engineers that make thousands to mix one song say the same thing. Certain things we do in the mix world re enforce feelings and emotion. Engineers aren't selling you compression and eq, their selling emotion, just like an artist.

If these engineers that make your house note off one mix are wrong, may I ask how much you make off one mix? Lol

Here is some more links to further prove it, and also it isn't "new age". People for centuries have been using frequencies to give feeling

Everything that was said was true! you can never have too much knowledge on mixing and mastering. The more you practice the more knowledge you gain and the better off you are.

Mixing and mastering is tricky and complicated. You can never learn everything about it because there is endless material and it comes with practice. What you need to do is go learn those deffinitions, watch a bunch of youtube videos and practice in your DAW. That is where you will learn the most of your information.

To Keep this Simple mastering involves bringing the frequencies to a desired level (lo,mid,hi) which is EQ and Volume to desired level (compression-limiting)

Effects are optional (reverb, delay ,flange )depending on the style you have but Eq and compression are a MUST

This is some truth. Every mix is different. Even if I give you all of the stems to a song that I mixed, we will still come out with different mixes. You have to choose your own approach and use that to create your signature sound. good post

Are you are suggesting that one is better off just giving up? To not try to learn how to do it yourself, just send it off to some guy who already knows how and forget all about it?

...and don't forget to let a professional write, perform, arrange and mix you music, too, if you really want your music to sound good.
