Preventing Artist from Stealing Beats

You guys are hilarious.

Money wins - bottom line.

Time to do some reading.

For those of you who missed this, the link I posted referenced a scenario where back in the day a reggae group allegedly got jacked by mic Jagger [the song by the way, grossed stupid numbers] and lost the case. Apparently Mic Jaggers drummer at the time [who ironically enough used to be in that same reggae group] was the link between jagger and the reggae group, and so he was brought to court to testify and stated he couldn't remember where he heard the music at...and because of that, the reggae group lost the case.

yea.. when you have your music online or if you even give samples of your music out on cd's dvds, etc.. you must protect your work.. the "poor man's copyright" is that you have the project files for your song.. so you have physical proof to show that you made the beat... someone in here posted that you can upload the song on youtube and mark the date it was uploaded.. that is a good way to do it as well. because you have proof that it is your account and that you uploaded it.. ALWAYS TAG YOUR MATERIAL!! place your tag in a position it is hard to take out without it affecting the outcome of the instrumental.. (primarily right at the end of the hook, and at the beginning of the verse) throughout the beat.

hope this helps.
