LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!! Changing the Direction of this Thread!!!

STOP THE MADNESS!!!

I mean really!

"Hip Hop is Dead" "Hip Hop is In an Ambulance" "Hip Hop Needs Mouth to Mouth" "Hip Hop is on the Respirator"

Ok, we all get it! Music sucks right now.

20 different rappers with "Lil" and "Young" in thier name. Chicken Noodle Soup, Laffy Taffy; all of the other bad-diet songs.

Big Boi and Luda getting offended because they *think* we're talking about them. Note to Big Boi: Kill the tough talk about you and Andre 3000. Really, youre not thug; There are no dudes on the block singing "Hey-Yaaaa."

To the dude here "repping the south"; We used to love the way the south rolled.........until the radio started sounding like corporate In-Breeding experiment! Tell all the good-ole boys down there to lookup originality. Dictionaries exist, i've seen them.

Dont try a hard rebuttle championing the south thank you, I moved from Mississippi to Virginia; still below the Maso-Dixon line. I have no problem correcting my own people.

Nas and Jay-Z; niether one of them read FP!!! Niether of them operate at the current epicenter of hip hop. They're businessmen, and have become removed from the culture. In conclusion....stop hanging on thier balls!

So, we've dont the b*tching and the moaning; now let me hit you with a revolutionary idea.....So someone told me that producers were the creative masterminds behind hip hop and r&b; And, wait try to keep up, given that this is a website dedicated to music producers...(drumroll)....HOW ABOUT WE STOP B*TCHING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!?!?!?!

Really, I dont mean, you "should" and we "autta" umm no. What are we going to do!

Many of us have connections. Many of us have great ideas. Others various skills. Some dont have a brain but they can be useful as well.

Let me throw some thoughts.

A) the FCC is about to allow open bids in Jan 07 for new FM stations. A lot of work and capital, but can definately be done
B) devise a strategy to really push podcasting and internet radio. use that to win the "elusive youth"
C) team together to actually form another independent media outlet, whether it be a label, a competative website (for rap battles, ect)

more thoughts appreciated. more b*tching, not.

Let Hip-hop live and continue growing...

"Hip-hop is dead" is the mantra for the cynical heads that are afraid of change! From a purist perspective, I understand where their fustration stems from. Trust me, I use to feel the same way but once you look at it from a bigger perspective...a Musical perspective..it's bigger than Hip-hop. We don't and will never own something so abstract and creative like MUSIC! I don't see it dying at all. Now, from a mainstream view...yes there isnt' that many creative artists on the radio but there's always going to be trend-followers (Check our music history in any genre) We're living in a "free music everywhere" era with myspace, sirius radio, indie labels, providing the masses with a large variety of hip-hop music!!! It's out there..you just gotta find it! As an mcee/bboy,
I couldnt be more happier than making music knowing that there's many facets to distribute my music thru. If anything, Specifically...Hip-hop music is growing and getting bigger. Yeah, It might not be as moving as it was during the 90's on a "mainstream level" (depending on if you like the southern movement which is dominating right now) but it's moving!
I love the new Nas album and i think alot of kats are glad he put that album out! I think he's point for the title is to shine some light on a diff. style of hip-Hop. We're all debating about whether Hip hop is alive or not so i guess he caught our attention, huh? haha. Peace and Keep it moving!! ONE love!!!
