It really is amazing how someone like Timbaland has made his entire career out of sampling other people and mixing and matching sounds. However, his albums still do sound better that everyone elses. I think what makes him good is he knows what sounds kool and is able to identify it, a skill that most trying to make it dont posess. Thats all music is really, knowing what sounds good and what works.

yep! i heard through the album alot of times! the album is not that good, but that is becuase duran duran isnt such a good band, and you also have to remember that danja worked solo without timbo on most of the tracks on this album! even justin timberlake produced a song!

You guys need to listen to more and differnet kinds of music if you think this is revolutionary...

I agree, people are bent on acheiving the same sounds as someone else, thats why the music you hear on the radio is so monotonous.

I wanted to be able to use this trance gate effect live without using a laptop.

Is it possible to do something similar to this "trance gate" effect on a regular synthesizer... such an Alesis Micron, XioSynth, or SH-201 (those are what I have)?

if your synth has assignable lfos, assign a lfo the the volume and use a square instead of sine wave to modulate. turn the depth up full then control your speed or sync it to tempo.
