Read both these statement...you added in words that completely change the connotation of the post. The things in red are things that I didn't say, but things you inferred...
I said major business opportunities. As in significant. Very few of my business opportunities have been with the "major labels" that you know of. Sometimes it's with an affiliated publishing company. Sometimes it's with a television network. Sometimes it's with a European firm that's doing music business that doesn't involve selling CD's.
My statement was that you don't have to have a MAJOR PLACEMENT to get checks from your music work.
I don't have a single major placement, but yet there are plenty of industry people that know me, and that pick up the phone when I call, and return emails when I email them.
A high profile manager called me in 2008 about signing me. In fact one of his/her clients is often on many of the Favorite Producer lists that I've seen posted here. His/Her clients won grammy's at this years awards.
You don't need major placements to do business within the industry of music. That's what people need to understand. This is why I've previously posted the things that i'm doing. To inspire people to realize that there's a WHOLE ENTIRE INDUSTRY outside of the Big 3 that are releasing CD's for people to purchase.
But that's the only thing that people are focused on...
Well that and trying to make themselves feel better by convincing themselves that I'm NOT really doing the things that I say I am.
I don't have any reason to lie about anything. I state the facts. If people infer something that I didn't state (as you did), then that's not on me.

i think one of the main problems w/ the way you think is that you rarely see where people are coming from when they address certain things about you.
like, you are on defense so much, that you rarely even see that the critiques made about you could actually help out your character in the long run.
when people critique you or your craft, you have to learn to use the TRUTHS in what they are saying to your benefit.
all i'm saying is that sometimes, people can see things about you clearer than you can see about yourself...

Nah...our lab is next door to a Lifetime Fitness type place(glorified gym for rich people with "trainers" that have degrees) lol and my office overlooks the parking lot. I feel like I'm on a wildlife preserve some days...if I find a discrete(lol picture that) way to take pictures I'll post.

Most all of the vets have bounced, I still get bored from time to time so I still come around.

Yep still on the radio. Yeah...the weather was crazy stupid down here last week. But it's nice now. Too bad I have to waste a beautiful day like today away at a place called WORK!

Thing is...WHO THE FCUK ARE OTHER PEOPLE TO CRITIQUE ME ON MY CRAFT?!?!?
They need to be critiquing THEIR OWN SH*T, and stop worrying about what my music sounds like, and maybe they would actually be doing something worth someone paying attention to.
I get sick of being the topic of people's conversation. Get a life.
When I ask for people's opinions, that's one thing. But people go OUT OF THEIR WAY to hurl their opinions and critiques at me, when I didn't ask for them.
Everybody thinks they know what's best for me. What I need to do. How my music needs to sound. How I need to do this and how I need to do that...
If they were further along then I was, then maybe I could lend some sort of validity to what they are saying. But 99% of the people that have opinions on what I should do and how I should do it, HAVEN'T SET FOOT OUTSIDE OF THEIR BEDROOMS.
How you (in general, not YOU) gon tell me what I should do? You've never produced a record. Never recorded a singer or rapper. Never even had an artist on one of your beats. Never gotten a CD pressed up. Never seen a contract. Never took a trip. Never sat down in front of a major label A&R and played your tracks. Never talked to a Music Supervisor. Never created a website. Never started a business. Never gotten a check...

And where is he now? He has produced a song for Lil Wayne and Eminem and with Travis Barker playing the drums at the Grammys.

That's beautiful. He has a different set of circumstances than I do.
His goals are not necessarily my goals. So what he did got him to where he wanted to be. I'm not trying to go to the same place.
He's on a team, signed to another producer, and he produced a beat that got placed.
That works for him. That doesn't work for me.
We're different people, different lives, different goals.
