People in the industry know me. My phone rings with major business opportunities. People call me wanting to feature me on their websites and magazines. I get calls wanting to fly me here and there to do various music related things...

ouch! lol. It's all good. It might be slow selling, but the music on it is hot and I'm happy to say I was part of that. Hell, we (The F.I.R.M.) did get 4 placements on that album, and 2 of them are singles from previously unknown songwriters(and producers). but that was last year, this year is a different year.

I would have to admit that I agree. also stop trying to argue with me on almost every other thing I say. I understand I might come off arrogant as well, but that's only because I actually have done and succeeded on some things that other are just starting to do. I still have a long way to go, but at least I sharing my knowledge and experience (from things that I have done successfully). I really do work in this industry, just because I'm accessable doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. It seems that many people here put people in the industry up on a pedestal and expect grand things from them, but in reality they are just like everyone else just trying to keep alive and for some they are just trying to keep their jobs. Times are rough out here and everyone is hurting.
My resume:
1. yes I was part of the AnR team for R.Kelly's Untitled. I was not an assistant or an intern. I am NOT with Jive. How did I get on the team. simple right place and the right time. One of my closest friends and a person I have been working with for over 5 years is the AnR consultant for the Vice President of the label. With my help he got his boss enough hot music that the label sent Kells down to ATL for 2 months to record. When Kells came down here, The VP made my friend the point person for the project. meaning everyone had to go thru my friend to get to Kells or to the VP. even the A-List Producers. My friend grabbed me to 'watch his back' and to help him out, he has faith in me cause he knows I know my **** inside and out. after all I've been working with him for 5 years. So that's it in a nutshell. I went for 2 months straight with no sleep, the only sleep I had was on the couches at the studios. That's why I say I was part of the AnR team, because that is exactly what we were. It was the VP, my friend, and I together the entire time. take that as you want.
2. Writing Sessions, The Premier A&R Showcase, The F.I.R.M. Fest, Live Radio, The Beat Down. These are the major events I helped plan and run. google them. again with my friend from #1
3. I used to co-managed a writing team, And I "co-discovered" them. that has a single that some of you remixed. and I've seen some of you post it here. I say used to because I decided to step away when they moved to ATL from Chicago. I was still responsibilities in Chicago at that time so I wasn't able to move, and I stepped away so they can grow. My friend from #1 is their manager right now.
4. I was the artist-dj liaison for a dj organization based in Chicago with over 115 working djs. I made up that title because it's the easiest way to describe what I did. I pretty much was the filter between the artist and the djs. I feed the djs records that I filtered from artist. I did this thru one of my events. My friend from #1 and I developed a system to break music without the drama of Chicago, and we did this very effectively. so much so radio was coming to us for records.
Some of you might have heard of my friend from #1. My friend is a better speaker than I, I like being lowkey about stuff. It's easier to see what's going on when the spotlight is on someone else. When the light is on you, sometimes it blinds you. I'm not saying I'm equal to my friend from #1, he is my mentor after all. The dynamic of our relationship is that he's the point man and I got his back and ear. I still work very closely with my friend, although right now he is touring the country speaking at conferences. and I'm focusing on building my name and honing my craft. We do share several email accounts, so when you send me music you send him music and vice-versa. I'm waiting for the craziness around here to settle before I start bringing opportunities to fp in general. But I have contacted people via PM and I will continue to do so. Although soon I'll do it publicly. I'm just waiting on the right time when I have things in order.
This is my resume. It's not much, but it's more than most and less then some. But you see where I give advice. I usually give advice from the business side because I have had results from managing, from coordinating events (promoting), from 'AnRing', and from dealing with djs and artst on a massive scale. And if you pay attention to my post that is were I give advice from, that or I'm messing around entertaining myself cause this place is hysterical and very entertaining. FP is like a soap opera.
I only find it fair for me to address my resume because I was at Troup for his. I try to live my life based on integrity. I'm not trying to get attention for this, I really don't want it. I'm being transparent. But I don't like name dropping, so I won't.

you are saying, industry folks are calling you to fly you out and do various music related things and you haven't gotten a single placement from this.
What exactly are industry folks paying to fly you out for? you don't have a placement so obviously they aren't flying you here or there for you to work on their albums.
You did say major (as in major label or that level) business opportunities. and they are calling you personally to offer these opportunities.
It's just this statement is very suspect and contradictory. I'm just trying to clear it up.
