day in and day out I make beats and It's getting pretty boring,

dont get me wrong I'm in this for the right reasons i love music.

But when you do It all day you just get bored as hell with it

I've said before, I don't ever get bored of making beats... If I've been on the same beat for a while then I get bored of that beat... E.g. If I take my time with the mix, and do the whole beat over 3-8 hours, then I get bored of hearing that beat, but that's rare.

Also, you shouldn't ALWAYS be making beats... TAKE BREAKS! I run out of inspiration if I make more than 2 or 3 beats a day... I once made 20 beats in a day... Only 3 or 4 was good enough, and I'm never doing that again, it was a waste.

Music isn't that exciting.

my process is hella boring, but it could probably be because my claims are way too high

i typicaly knock out 4 beats a day who are just decent, not mixed or anything

but i spend most of my time just finding a melody that makes my hair stand up, then drums that make booty's shake, and sick interludes that give it the edge

so do i do a lot of them ? no, hell no, and by the time i've found it, i'm falling over on my bed haha

i also use up a lot of time doing research and learning all sorts of tricks

here's one by scott

maybe youre just stuck in a set way of producing and are starting to get bored of it, if a break doesnt solve it then look at how your producing and see if theres anything you can do to change it up a bit.

great answer, I'll try that

i went from mouse clicking in everything in FL to using the keyboard then i got bored/fed up with FL so now on reaper. using a controller is almost a must in reaper and i tend to switch between my keyboard and mpd32 for various tasks.

why do you always have to give sarcastic answers? lol
Cause he's a straight up a**hole, I've never seen a positive comment come from him, in a thread lol! Also, congrats Mdkw on the placement! Also, a thing I do when I need more inspiration, I don't stop making beats as such... I just go and do something else, which will help with making beats, collect more samples, or chop up breaks, make new drums, whatever. So I'm always progressing musically whether I'm making beats or not. In college I sit around in lessons actually thinking of ways to promote myself, musical ideas, etc...

I used to be that way. I've lost my beatmaking ability. Don't get me wrong...I can create whatever kind of music any genre and it be some good stuff, just I find myself pushing to hard to be who I once was. The person eventing styles for people to think about in the future. I ain't bullshittng when I say I've pretty much thought of everything that could be hip hop before you thought it was someones new style. I invented trap music back in 93". I was the baddest dude on this planet in 97'. All you trap beat makers owe me. I'm serious. To be me....you would be on some hard drugs knowing that at your younger ages if their was an internet, or a person that really cared to give you a path to walk, that life would be different for the better. I was a very caution dude. I know how niggas is because I'm a nigga too...so I never let people around me to steal my shit. I've had plenty of ideas stolen due to my partner. Drunk ass......always bumping into people on the bus talking about his guitar skills. Old ass always bringing some ole thug ass nigga around me and my shit just because he a nice guy. Always bringing some 2 dollar crack hoe around him and waking up with his money gone. Man I was a dude not to mess with back then. I was still more rapper than beat maker. I made beats and wrote raps every day. Recorded everyday. Everyday I said "man I know I'm going to make it because nobody can fuuck with me".....and seriously...nobody could fuuck with me on the mic and beat because I developed a style. Hip hop is like Wu Tang got dammit.....I studied from Rakim, Kool G Rap, Ice Cube, Scarface....I formed myself into this super MONSTER. True story. I wanted all of that in one. The multi rhyme skill of Kool G, the deep rhymes of Rakim, the story telling of Scarface, and saying that shit like I mean it like Ice Cube. People couldn't help but respect me because even when I went to deep over their head, I still sounded like something.

My bad...I have flashbacks. I tell you my true story to tell you that you are going to get old one day, don't put all of your time in the creation of music if your mind is set on one day making money from it. Because YOU WILL GET STUCK DOING IT EVERYDAY as life goes on. Then you burn yourself out..then you don't care no more...then you wasted your time...could've went to school and became something. If you going to do it..GO ALL OUT WITH IT. You have the knowledge at your finger tips today...shit you can make a video that the world can see. You got all kinds of shit today...go for it.....GETCHA ASS OUT OF THE STUDIO.

all day.. I at most do one or two beats a day.. and it takes like 2 and half + hours to get a loop add sounds.. mix and compose.. maybe you should stop making beats and take more time finding better sounds for the beats.. if it's not a banger.. don't make it... thats how i workl...

I died... I hate that ****ing lame ass program... The chops sound like they are overlapping, and you can hear the cut off. What software did you use? It's very repetitive for a 4 min long instrumental... But the beats good... I hate that sample though...

making beats is boring, gotta always find a new workflow to make shit fun

Boring? For me making beats can become tedious but never boring. If you are getting bored switch up what you are doing. Start a new beat that is very different than what you usually do or watch a action movie. Works for me. Also another thing I try to do is work through my goals in my mind when I'm musically burned out. This keeps me focused so once i hit the daw again I'm ready to work!
