THIS is why an Executive Producer is NECESSARY...

maybe.

but they still have a market, right?

An ever decreasing market.

At this point, he's like a new artist, and he needs to treat himself like a new artist.

He doesn't have the same opportunities he had when he was with Jay, because he's been blacklisted. So he needs to approach the game from a New Artist point of view.

There's definitely a market for that STREET THUG music, but he needs to approach it the right way.

And it's 2012...and he's approaching it like it's 2001.

I heard he auditioned to be in the biggie movie notorious. If he would've got the part what do you think his career would be like now?

Man them beats were off the chain...I mean maybe that's his style, maybe that's what he wants...IDK...but I definitely appreciate Soul Hip Hop....maybe he's trying to bring it back...I wouldn't mind!!!!

Nobody's puttin a gun to beanie's head and makin him rap over these tracks.. Personally, I see a artist who is happy doin what he love to do which at the end of the day is most important, but you can tell he feels a connection wit these tracks, and i think it sounds like it's gonna be a good album in my opinion. But an executive producer is definitely needed cause you dont want to be surrounded by "yes men" or people who aint gonna give their honest opinion... but i like what i heard **kanye shrug**

I agree with this.

Music is about MOVING FORWARD.

The minute you STOP moving forward in the music industry, YOUR CAREER DIES.

Ask Juvenile.

I think troup is on some Executive Producer viewpoints right now. Others are on the artist viewpoint.

To the executive producer the music is only as good as the money it generates.

Nowadays your career will die either way unless you are constantly putting out new material, it's just the fast paced age we live in now, people just eat shyt up like pac man, and artist who cant keep up with the pace musically have to revert to publicity stunts just to stay relevent, i remember a time when something big happened, you talked about it for months, nowadays you cant remember what happened last week.

I agree 1000%. I agree more like a 1,000,000 percent. In the 2012 game, you're not as good as your last HIT...you're as good as your last SONG.

If you're last hit was last year, but another guys SONG was last week, then you're losing.

This is what Beans' team doesn't understand. His time on The Roc doesn't mean shit at the moment. Because there are 1000 artists that have been putting out way more music than him, and are hotter than him...including some youtube artists.

Exactly.

And the money you generate is directly proportional to the fans acceptance of your music. He's not gonna pack a club with the music that he's making now. Nobody wants to hear an hour's worth of ZONE OUT AND SMOKE A BLUNT songs. Cuz when that Nicki Minaj BEEZ IN THE TRAP joint comes on, they are gonna lose their minds, and Beans is gonna be left scratching his head.

He can still do those "soulful" joints, with some more progressive beats.

But in order to have a career, you gotta generate money. Otherwise, your'e a VOLUNTEER.

Ok, so like switch ups instead of 4 bar loops? Just wondering.

what does that entail?

selling more records?

switching genres?

re-branding yourself?

It involves the evolution of SELF. Your music, your image, your sound, your EVERYTHING.

I'm not the same person as I was 10 years ago. I'm not the same person as was 20 years ago.

Certain core elements should remain the same. Look at Alicia Keys. She's constantly pushed the boundaries of her music. The core elements (pianos and vocals) have stayed the same. But she's pushed the boundaries of her sound on every single album.

And Beans is trying to TAKE IT BACK to 2001.

Nobody wins when they try to TAKE IT BACK. The minute an artist tries to RECAPTURE THEIR OLD GLORY, they lose.

I don't know of ONE SINGLE ARTIST that was able to do it successfully. NOT ONE.

What?? We're not talking about BEATS. We're talking about his entire approach to making music.

Soul samples are fine if that's what he wants to do. But approach them in an innovative way. He's looping soul over simplistic drum beats. The same way it's been done for 20 years.

Has to be something different.

Although I'd recommend something entirely different for him.

I don't think beans ever had the ability to seperate himself from that Philly street sound. Listen to all of his albums. It's just now is a time where that sound will get you no sales, and without rocafella behind him, he WON'T have a big single to carry the rest of the album like he usually got.

But really evaluate this...when has Beans ever released a SOLID album to anyone who didn't like this type of stuff he's doing now.

This is the hip hop I love, I'll be one of the few anticipating this release, kinda mad I ain't submit nothing... but gotta agree with Troup, from a business standpoint this is bland and 1 dimensional in a world where people's attention spans are short. It's no longer 98 when people copped ur shyt just cause you were Jay's boy and you kilt it on Reservoir dogs.

Nothing he played had the standout power of songs that CURRENTLY top charts. And as much as folk wish this wasn't the truth...street hop don't sell in 2012. No ifs, maybes, or might bes. But I respect the struggle and the hustle 24/7.

Also gotta point out to all you lil monitor listeners...notice he wanted that shyt played back thru the big loudspeaker joints? Message in a bottle.

Realistically looking at it, NICKY MINAJ ,DRAKE ,BEANS ,SOULJA BOY,TYGA-------Who does not belong?? Beans don't have a place in this market, his best bet is to stay true to his fans.
