I thought about that, I did see with Lloyd Banks' track dump that they were going the digital route to put his music out, and they said they were gonna split 50/50 with producers ... and you see 50 hasn't really been in a hurry to drop his retail album, but he's on his Charles Hamilton with these mixtapes, and its all linked back to ThisIs50 ... me personally, I still wanna put stuff out and give people the opportunity to come off the cash and make money off the traffic, as opposed to dropping stuff for free and then making money off the traffic

I can't believe that what one dude on a Ustream says is law to some that are looking for validation for not having $50... (Voss you've been great, and I hope this isn't seen as a knock on you)

PMP is a choice.... more of an opportunity than you would've had years ago... (if your shyt gets filtered out... it's wack, get over it)

The problem with production is that EVERYBODY thinks their stuff is special... and EVERYBODY wants to sell leases for $50 but they don't want to pay $50 a month, lol.

IF YOUR BEATS WERE THAT CRACK!..... you'd make your monthly PMP membership off of one beat a month...

Thanks Rome. I'm trying to keep it civil despite the jabs back and forth.

I think throughout the nonsense, this thread has provided some valuable insight. I'm more open to the idea of PMP now than I was before, whereas I'm not really messing with MusicPlacements (TonyGs cosign) at all at this point.

Still, PMP reps, do u filter the track dumps?

Please answer that question. I understand everything else you guys are talking about, but just answer the question.

There you go, the future of the music business right there. 50 already saw the switch and made his move (that's why he's at war with Interscope right now and his imprint was dropped) because he realized there is more money for him online than it is through the selling of his music via the label. He made more money online off of the beef with Rick Ross than Rick Ross did off of the selling of his album. The result of this is the vast majority of producers end up accumulating PAYLESS discographies as the amount of acts (especially on the rap side) that make it to retail continue to shrink down to a select few. With a good percentage of them not being able to sell enough albums (ex -Maino) for the label to make back their money (much less the artist recouping) the producer is being boxed out of the financial game because unlike the artist there is no show money to live off of (ex -Gucci Mane). So new revenue systems have to be built in order for the producer to make money off of the 'promotional' use of their product. This is the real topics that need to be addressed not a bunch of delusional talk.
 
PMP has alot of solid producers who use it so until they get over cast by the followers you atleast have a great reference to where u compare... it's a win win if got the money...if not...go win a roc battle and let that pay for it till you get a few sales.
