I agree with deranged. I'd go as far as saying outside of live instruments and vocals compression isn't really needed at all
I'll make sure to clarify. In the digital age, there's filters, and other plug ins available that do the equivalent of paralell compression. With a digital signal, I don't have to load it in seperate tracks, ect. I can just use aux outputs with heavy compression and adjust the "dry/wet"(aux level) signal.Jersey8five6 said:would u mind explaining why paralell compression isn't necessary in the digital age?
Like me. He cuts the low end so it can be louder without lows distorting.
How far up do you usually cut it?
min. 40 Hz, but your ears and monitoring system should be your leader.
Then I always think somethings missing, I dont know if I actually hear it or if it's just my mind playing tricks.
Maybe I don't have the right accurate filter plugin, which one do you use?
doesn't matter what you use. a simple EQ or filter will do it. most of the time I use Waves REQ, but really doesn't matter.
