As far as "gangsta rap" beatz, I guess dude is talkin bout west coast G funk , whiny bass type joints. Otherwise I dont know what the hell that means.

But yes, Gangsta rap can be part of West coast and g-funk style beats too but they aren't just that style.

Ole big thoated bassline. Song was a bigger hit on his "mixtape" than all of the songs on his latest album. smh.

50 Cent does "gangsta rap" over traditional east coast beatz.
So did Kool G Rap.
Young Jeezy does "gangsta rap" but his beatz are trap beatz.

So yeah, I dont know that the production of gangsta rap has a particular sound.
I thought "gangsta rap" was what you talked about in your rap, not the beat you used.

Yes, I agree too now that I thought about it. I suppose it is what is in rap..

Why not post a link to a beat in each style and let people vote? The trick would be deciding which track best represents each style.
 
I actually did a video about this recently. I feel most of my sample beats are really poplular as they all have hooks in the chorus. Most artist feel that they are getting more bang for their buck when they get a beat and a hook for the same price as a beat.
