Honestly, I've never even heard the names Darkchild or Boi 1da... so 150$ for some cats to review my track that I've never even heard of.... ehhhhh I'll try my luck with sending msgs on Facebook & Myspace lol

Man what kind of music do YOU DO? LOLOLOL

If you dont know who Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins is then you probably dont need to be making beats in the first place. Boi1da is one of Drake's producers...did "Best I Ever Had" and "Replacement Girl"

So, I went to the Blazetrak website. The site says it gets you in touch with untouchables on the home page. So I am assuming that these people are HARD or impossible to get in touch with. I see Darkchild, Midi Mafia, Rich Harrison, Bryan-Michael Cox, Buckwild, Boi1da, Kenny Lattimore, and even the Pussycat Doll's Manager, Jeff Haddad on the site taking submissions. I also see super fine Tara Conner (former Miss USA) taking submissions. So I am assuming this is not just for music. It's for "untouchables". I do agree with dude above that if you don't know these names of the music professionals, then you have NO reason to be on this site. They are untouchable.

However, here is my issue with the site. I pay $150 to Darkchild and he says no, I don't like it. Then what? I'm out of $150? Then I pay Rich Harrison ($185 by the way) and he says he doesn't like it. I'm really out of some serious cash. It seems to me that they need to be offering me more than just "I like it" or "I don't like it". I'd rather send my demo directy to Taxi.com and pay their $300 fee and get my music heard by a ton of music execs.

I just had deja vu.
Didn't somebody post a similar thread ages ago or am I trippin???

Well if you have a professional product and package and make money from your craft, I think that $150 wouldn't hurt too much.
Never know what could happen from it.

you get a pass cuz Darkchild isn't a name you would normally hear in hip hop and rap esp if you don't listen to radio but he's a big name so maybe you've heard his name once or twice and wasn't paying it any attn..he does commercial pop and r&b ..lot's of hits with Destiny's Child,,matter of fact I think he did that MJB ft Drake...now Boi 1da,I'm not sure how he qualifies for this type of 'elitism' already but w/e..he uses FL too from what I hear

If you're hoping to "get on", then this type of thing appeals to you.

Think about it...how many PRODUCERS have Darkchild put on??

Exactly.

Their opinions aren't worth $200.

How do u know who he has put on or hasnt put on? And dont we ALL want the chance to work with the people he works with, isnt that the goal??? I mean I am not doing this for my health, I am doing this for a chance that the masses will hear me. If one of the best poducers in the world who Michael Jackson called "A Genius", is not worth $150 to you then Im curiuos who is? I pay $150 for a doctor to tell me i have a cold, or an attorney to tell me to sign here, or an accontant to tell me to pay this....and no opportunity comes with any of that....so whats the difference?

They are offering production deals, publishing deal, artist deals, placements with current artists, and overrall advice....$150 is a small price to pay for a chance at that, and i get a video response so I know they paid attention.....I'll pay twice that much in the studio just trying make something that hopefully be heard one day.....U trippin.

nobody is worth paying them $150 to tell me if I'm nice or not..what if you paid him and all you get is a video of Boi 1da saying he likes your beats and thas it ?,you just spent $150 for knowledge that you probably already had, just to be able to tell ppl 'well I got Boi 1da on video saying he likes my beats'...$150 for that??? fuk no..if I'm that nice, then you pay me muthaphucca!

No you did NOT say Taxi.com???? If anything is a ripoff it is Taxi. You have NO CLUE who anyone on taxi is....They have "A&R" execs who review your stuff, and if THEY like it, then they submit it to an opportunity that reads "A well known company in LA is looking for a R&B song to place in upcoming commercial." Who are any of these people??? I can go to to vistaprint and print up a biz card that says I am A&R for Sony...lol. Taxi sucks! You dont hear a word from anybody unless you actually book the gig which is just like everything else out here...no advice, no direction, at least tell me why i didnt get the gig, and what i need to do to book the next one. How do you know if anyone even actually looked at your stuff?? Now with Blazetrak, you are telling me that I can actually CHOOSE the exact person that I want to hear my stuff, and they guarantee that person will pay attention to me and respond via video, and if i am not happy i can get a full refund.....

That is what I call a no-brainer

And as I am reading these descriptions for example: Rich Harrison is looking for records for Young Steff and Richgirl....That is OPPORTUNITY right there. Darkchild is putting a Band together...OPPORTUNITY. Yeah there is a chance they dont like my stuff, but at least I get a video back telling me that, with some advice on how to improve and get better. Then u know what i will do, I will make adjustments and send it right back to him. Now Darkchild sees that I work hard and improve and he is familiar with me so now there is a more personal connection....now my foot is in the door.

You are too focused on the fee, and not the opportunity in front of you that you can finese if you are smart. Like i said earlier...every one of you woud pay to fly your ass anywhere in a second if any one of these people asked you 2 come audition for something.

My point exactly...well said. If you scared to put $150 behind your craft, then u are second guessing yourself and your work

Then I ask for my refund, which they clearly say they will offer if you get a bulls*it response. And what if Boi 1da says, "Yo this is nice as hell and im trying to do something with this and want to offer u a publishing deal, or "here is my personal email so u can send me some more stuff", or "Im calling u next week", or "Im NOT really feeling this, but this is what you can do to make it better....

Think out the box homie and stop worrying about $150

there's a difference between being scared and just not wanting to fuk with this..

I always think outside the box but I'm sure you wouldn't just crumble up or rip up $150 and just throw it in the garbage. or throw it in the air on a windy day and see where it lands

none taken...and a year from now u will probably still be doing mixtapes and posting on this site trying to figure out how to get heard by someone and get a deal.

no disrespect.

LOLOL True indeed. i guess what i am saying is that I have probably spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years if i were to add up everything and I am no closer to getting any kind of deal then when i 1st started, and no one (that I know of) with any clout has heard anything I have done...so what is another $150 (when I have spent thousands) to guarantee me that Rich, or B.Cox, or Darkchild, or Polow, or Keri, or Big Boi, or whoever (all are on the site too) will get to hear me, and give me something tangible in return AND i can get a refund if I aint happy...

Im sorry....but like i said....this is a no-brainer to me.

so i guess it basically boils down to if you got it then its worth it compared to if your strugglin find another option... Cuz if your serious about your craft your gonna do what you gotta do to make it..

So what about those of us who are serious but are still pinching pennies and trying to make a smart investment towards their career ?

SOMEBODY gotta take one for the team... invest that 150 and then we'll see how things happen and take it from there.

Come on now!

Ok- I might be the only country music producer on this piece, but oh well. I know one thing and that is you can move to Nashville and play in bars for like three years...and maybe somebody like Paul Worley might hear your music. It might be different for you beat makers - but for us in Country music this is like a dream come true. Guaranteed video feedback or your money back...I mean I spend $100 minimum every time I go to a songwriters convention. I say it is worth a try!

users with one post ? sound fishy to me. I guess some of the blazetrak staff are on FP lmao :monkey:
