I quoted your post in agreement with your comments.

"Easy nuh" is directed to those that hate the reggeaton. If u nu like it den don't listen.

And i'm speaking from the point of view of someone who has listened to but not really a fan of Reggaeton.

Well to ease the tension up in this box, Let this Panamanian show you how original Latin Reggae is suppose to sound. (Dancehall in Spanish). After pressing the URL, press enter and you will hear me. Later on I will put up a Reggaeton so you can hear the difference. I do both styles and much more because I am versatile and love all genres of music. By doing this, more creativity comes and new music can be derived.

The author of that article is Aisha Al-Muslim..after reading it..I sent her an email..with the following reply..this might inform some of you as well:

Waddup Aisha..mi name Riddim King..from PR seen?..I read your article pon Roots of Spanish Reggae..there are a few things I'd like to clarify...yuh claim many things such as Panama is home to many west indian people unlike PR...Puerto Rico is Central West Indies...and deh inna we culture me know several Jamaican people..plus we in constant trade with St. Kitts..Antigua..and the USVI..so yuh know its a mix..but the point of this message is to tell you about the REAL roots of spanish reggae...in your article..you state dat di reggae in panama is similar to di one inna Jamaica..when in reality it is exactly di same..the panamanian people used to sing pon exactly di same riddims..such as the 'murder she wrote' version of Bam Bam Riddim..or the 'hot this year' version of Drum Song Riddim..di Puerto Rican people used to do di same thing seen?...I know dat ole time artists in Panama went public with spanish versions of songs on these riddims..which were not produced by dem..a good fact is, that the Dem Bow Riddim was originally composed by Bobby Dixxon for Digital B...nuff producers/composers from Jamaica made these riddims which Panama thiefed from dem...no royalties payed..and trust me about dat..because I deyah inna di music industry..I'm part of di deadly vibez sound..and long time deep inna di roots of early dancehall..Nando Boom - Dem Bow...same thing as Shabba Ranks - Dem Bow...or how about "El Dandi"..dat is di same chune as "Kimbo King" from Reggie Stepper..and look at di newer artists in Panama like Principal..all di man does is splice from di newer dancehall..Im not bigging up di Puerto Rican artist neither..cah dem use to sing pon all dem jamaican riddims...di only ting is..dat in PR..the names of these riddims..and credits..were not presented to the listeners..only the selectas..or "DJ'S" knew dem because they used to rip dem from vinyl and not really tell di public..simply call it a "pista" right?? an instrumental track..but there was little awareness of where these riddims came from..so you cant really blame di Puerto Rican yutes fe dat right?..same ting in Panama..both countries think they "made" these riddims..when in reality they just rip dem from old jamaican 45s..which at the time were new..and sometimes mix dem down a bit..or make a new version of it..which in a sense requires a talent..but Panama cant really claim to have "invented" these riddims..they just were the first to go public singing in spanish..PR nowadays uses a bass/drum pattern based on the original dem bow or poco man jam riddim..only its more modern and they add techno melodies..the fact that they use the samem riddims in every song gets me heated..so not much talent there either ya andastan..but as far as the 'who invented what'..trust me..neither country did..it was all Jamaica..just know dat Puerto Rico used to sing in spanish pon reggae riddims too its just dat there was no record label willing to promote..so it was all underground..neighborhood stuff..back in mid-80's puerto rican yutes used to sing pon riddims such as Sleng Teng..and even Tempo riddim..believe it or not..sometimes you would even have some try chant some stuff inna english..you might be rolling your eyes right about now..but do a lil more research..talk to di original producers..see how they feel..Im not putting your research down..its just dat you along with both di puerto ricans and di rest a di panamanians are misinformed about di origins of di riddims. please reply when you get a chance..~guidance~

yo i did what yu saying but puerto ricans are latinos not identified as westindians, aint puerto rico in latin america right! if thats the case then all caribbean islands would be latin people ya dig dominican republicans are latino haiti share the same island but they not latinos they speak french and the d.r speak spanish.

thats like tego calderon said in fader magazine he did not like reggaeton at first cause puerto ricans used to copy and sing the words in spanish. he also said something about salsa and notbeing puerto rican but salsa was created in cuba bu\y afro cubans in spanish words.
so my thing is why do reggae and not salsa??

some dancehall i would not play around hispanics cause no matter what they re gonna think it's theirs and i have no clue why that is maybe you can help me out with that one.

but whats the difference when you create something that sounds like something else but say it's differnt beat structure i don't get it.

holla back riddim king

Yow Terelle...
you make a good point on di whole latino ting...however..I'm not di one who said dat Puerto Ricans "invented" anything..dat was something I was clarifying..my post was in reply to the article in the link..and it is to sate dat neither Panamanians nor Puerto Ricans invented what they call "reggaeton" or "spanish reggae"..I even explained where these riddims came from...although reggaeton nowadays is mostly just techno melodies with the same bassline/drum pattern..when they first started out..they used the exact same riddims as the ones inna Jamaica...so basically what they call spanish reggae (Dem Bow Riddim, Poco Man Jam Riddim, Duck Riddim) and a whole heap a other riddims, came from Jamaica zeen?...as far as di whole "latino" term for the Puerto Ricans...yes they are latinos...geographically they are located in the central west indies...they are hispanics as far as the language...funny thing is...they have no similarities between dem and central/south americans except for the language..and even dat sounds a lil different..u can't compare an island inna di caribbean with Mexico just because both lands speak spanish..also...according to CNN.."Puerto Rican" is not considered a race, because even tho the majority of di population of di island is "mulato"..basically tan...there are also whites and blacks...and believe it or not a smaller population of Asians, Indian, English and from other countries...and eventually they all mix in with the rest a dem...forming people dat look nothing alike, its a mix I guess..not a race...not to mention di amount of people living deh from other islands...so call dem whatever u want...the purpose of my reply to the topic wasn't to talk about the nationality as much as di music..alright..now a last comment on di whole "I won't play any dancehall around latinos cause they will claim its there's"..ok check my opinion on ur comment..in a sense its true..alot of times they believe its they own..as I mentioned dat both Panama and Puerto Rico believe dat dey invented dis or invented dat..I know di truth behind di roots of reggae and dancehall bredrin..trust me...I have nuff links..I know King Jammy and ting...however it's not they fault..they are misinformed because dem selecta/dj/promoter in hispanic countries dont tell di crowd where dey took di riddims from..and di first versions of these riddims they hear is in spanish...now let me tell you...artists in Panama loooove splicing from di Jamaican DJ dem..especially artists like Principal, Jr Ranks, Kafu Banton, Renato and practically all they talent copy di Jamaicans 100% a di time...in dem cd's they splice every single new riddim dat come out..in my opinion I think dem a whole heap a Jamaican wannabes..Panamanians need to get over di fact dat dey are not..ok..bla bla bla..wid di building of di panama canal..it brought many west indian immigrants to work deh...big deal...USA has many west indian immigrants...dat dont make us Jamaican zeen?..I gwaan speak on behalf of di Yawdies right now: "stop posin off a we!!" lol...tekkin di kulcha and claimin it as your own..yush! anyway...terelle..prob I helped you understand a few tingz..any questions..just link back..~bless~
