i was just checking out the homepage and i think its a little bit unfair the way the featured producers list is set up.like it has known producers who have a already had beats on major albums and they probably already have contacts and better advantages than every1 else that is trying to come up...

They should have other people that have good beats on their, not just those guys.

i was thinkin about that too. i agree to an extent but its sort of motivation for all the other producers on there to step they game up to be better than the people they feature on the homepage

Anybody know who made track #354591? Man I cant stop listenin to that joint! Its that best one I heard on that list on the front page. Its the last beat in the list. That sample is just nasty!!!

On the top of the list it says "View the producer"

I think that's one of the worst beats on the whole damn site. Seriously.

That vocal sample is off key from the rest of the beat, and it's off beat too.

And that vocal sample just SUCKS period.

"I was born..." Yeah...unfortunately.

i thought i was the only one who felt like that. lol. disgusting.

So did anyone land anything yet?? I am thinking about getting on it myself, I got the money, I just dont want to waste the money becuase the hype might be more then it really is.

So 4 questions to all those who have an account with pmp and have paid money to be on the website....

1. Has the money you have spent on pmp been worth it?

2. Have you landed any placements yet?

3. Spoken with or got any connections to a A&R affiliated to a major record label because of pmp?

4. Does pmp live up to its hype?

not a member yet but i think if they held an exclusive conference for both their producers and subscribers it would go a long way to solidify possible relationships. just my two cents.

i placed a track on 50cents new album. shhhh dont tell anyone

i'm dissapointed in pmp's staff for putting trash like 354436 on there. that's pretty weak. he must be doin something for them to like it but that sounds like total trash. makes laffy taffy or soulja boy sound like mozart lol.

Q - What are the criteria for the "Featured Producers"?
A - Featured Producers are chosen on the following criteria: a) Presentation b) A&R critique c) overall traffic statistics

and to the kids who dont think its worth it or that its too much money....

this is a market place for "ALL Artist to find Quality Work" so if you dont think you can hack it or think its "UnFair" the way they have it, then maybe you shouldn't be thinking about PMP. if you want to play with the big boys, you'll find ways to get your game tight. i do admit there is some serious CRAP on there but i feel that its a hustle game online. if you have the best beat for the artist, you will be given a chance, or they will keep an eye on you through subscriptions.

Well I already "Play with the Big Dogs". And I'm closing my account end of the month unless something big happens, because of this.

1) Don't know anyone who has yet gotten a placement thru PMP, not saying that no one has, but closest I've heard was SleepDeez was being reviewed, didn't hear any follow up.

2) There's currently close to 700(if not more by now)producers on PMP so think about each producer up there submitting 2-5 tracks per track dump. You got the same odds of being heard as mailing off a CD which leads me to...

3) I have a million ways to get tracks to most of the artists up there. I've hung out with Yung Berg and played a few tracks for him in the studio, holla'd a Topic thru myspace and sent him some tracks directly thru his email, been sending tracks to Jay Xclusive and getting positive feedback from Sqad Up for months before ever joining PMP, and was trying to get Family Tree to manage me at one time, then I log in and see Tiffany J as the person to get tracks to.

4)I've been there 4 months. $200 ain't sh*t when you get the connects. I spend that socializing at a club with A&Rs and artists, but month 1 I was getting all kinds of responses, new subscribers, messages, haven't had 1 new subscriber or message in the last 3.

I'm not saying it's a bad site, I just think it's currently so overcrowded, it's just as easy to get lost in the mix as mailing a CD or sending tracks to an email. Which I can get for any artist up there for absolutely free.

I'll probably rejoin when traffic dies down.

if you play with the "Big Dogs", then you can only use PMP for "promotion". I mean, otherwise you are competing with many who are better than you, do it for less.........but in the end don't have the "connections", right? so if you use your brain, PMP is the WORST place for you to be.

thats strange. I mean, the site's success will grow with every REAL WORLD PLACEMENT they can establish (or better said, their "environment" makes possible).
so with no SUCCESS STORIES........there is no PMP, unless...

700 x 50 = 35.000 DOLLARS A MONTH (!!!).
read that again. most A&Rs/assistants make 30-50k/year.
selling DREAMS was never easier I guess.
damn, 420.000 a year for selling DREAMS.
great biz idea, f*ck.

which leads me to my first paragraph. use your brain, its not for you.
and besides...

lets put this in perspective. you paid 200 bucks for some mails telling you that some mysterious person out there MIGHT be interested in your work at some point in the future. w-o-w!!!

for a grand you would get a professional "promo map" with pro layout, business cards, a list of artists and A&Rs for your product (including their contact info), 50 CDs (incl. print). you would get A PRODUCT for your PRODUCT. I know a guy who does that.
otherwise, you pay for having a dream. but you already know that.

yeah, but they won't be making any money if they have 10 industry producers selling tracks to 10 industry artists (whatever "industry" means in this case).

they make money off of FPers putting their tracks up there, thinking, "damn, FP hates on artists X and producer Y, they say he's wack. so hmmm, my stuff ain't that bad. I got a chance!".

question: what does D.Dot and that Danity Kane do out there?
aren't they Puffy's "friends" already? why do they need to be on a page with an A&R who sells music to their own label?
Dangerous LLC doesn't need PMP to sell tracks, does he? etc

what they act like is a management company selling PRODUCT to CLIENTS, what they really make biz with, is selling DREAMS to NOBODIES! "Paying For Dreams + Myspace = PMP"

not a bad biz idea, no ****.

u really think traffic's gonna slow??? u must be jokin...lol... its gonna get to critical mass and self sustain... they know that... a new producer/beatmaker is born every time someone gets a cracked FL7 or any other beat program... it has no choice but to increase... u'll be waitin yrs for traffic to slow, if it ever does.

da relic

Im signed up on pmp too (my page url is in my sig). Can someone give me some tips on getting my music heard on the site.

Man...all this PMP hatred. I don't see what for.

I spend about $200 a month to get my beat CD's pressed up. I spend $15 per package to overnight CD's to at least 10 label contacts per month.

That's $350 a month I spend sending out beat CD's. That's not to mention the money I spent on my company letterhead, envelopes, business cards, etc.

On PMP, I can do all of those same things for $50 a month. That's a $300 savings per month. And with PMP, my tracks get DIRECTLY to the A&R's...I don't get corralled at the INTERN, my beats don't get tossed in the trash unopened, and they don't get sold to some "talent agency" who calls me offering to get me a "major label deal" for the low-low price of $600.

And thru PMP I spoke DIRECTLY to Conrade Dimanche, who took one of my beats DIRECTLY to Yung Joc potentially for his first single. Thanx to PMP, RIGGS MORALES has heard my music and subscribed to my page.

I spoke to Abom on the phone...he personally let me know that the people behind the scenes at PMP are fvckin with me and the music that I make, and A&R's have their eyes on me...he told me to keep banging em out, and it's only a matter of time.

You know where I got sending out beat CD's??? I got on the mailing lists of at least 5 different "talent agencies", all promissing to get me a "deal". I got "blown off" by the INTERN at another label, who told me I need to get myself a sound like NITTI. Oh, and I got blown off by secretaries of major A&R's, who were allegedly "out of the office".

So yeah...PMP is responsible for some of the biggest attention that I've gotten.

Bottom line is, IF YOU HAVE THE PRODUCT, PMP will work for you, in time. PMP IS NOT THE SHORTCUT TO THE INDUSTRY. It's just an alternate route.

Well Said

it's just funny to me that how people on here are backing PMP up, when they haven't got placements yet but just a subscriber like youtube or a recognition call

PMP is getting rich for being a glorified soundclick+myspace music*no. of "inside industry connects"

The only people that complain are the people that want a label deal or big come up for $50.

You can hate on it all you want... I saw that dude listening to a track dump in one of those vids... technology has just kicked everything in the ass. People probably won't even accept your CD's in the near future... they'll just tell you to go to PMP Worldwide. They don't know you... they need good music... you trying to build relationships won't work unless you have an in... you know... somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody...

Some dude broke that ish down to the very last compound in one of these threads.... you have A&R subscribers... they aren't rappers... you have rapper subscribers (hopefully)... they aren't A&R's.... a lot of people have to agree on yo shyt... A&R loves it / Rapper hates it and can't write to it... (aye bay bay!!!! - example) ...

Just make music... gas will cost you $50 to make it to the venue to hand out your CD now... lol (no I'm not)

I guess you want those dudes to supply the bandwidth, site maintenance, updates, promotion and everything else for free... lol.

They are trying to help you... You pay $300 a month for car insurance and don't get into any accidents... ... that just in case money, ya know. That $50 just in case I come up with the right banga money is a lot cheaper.

You take women out and don't get no ass... she's PMP'n you BUT you'll still have to do it... and you will do it again... until something happens...

You know dudes that go to DISCMAKERS only to have 5 BIG ASS boxes of CDs in their garages... Divide what they paid by $50... tell me DISCMAKERS ain't some mf'n pimps.... you could get a 10 disc CD duplicator for the price you pay them...

Big ass-ted post by a dude that doesn't have to pay....

Whut!

MMM HHMMM! Your shyt should've been tight during the beta testing phase... but you stayed on FP hatin' on the mf's that didn't give a damn about what you thought...
