LOL, so the answer to the original posters question is, no, you guys havent.

ahahaha.

To Deranged - Im not tryna be a hater or anything like that....But I listened to your tracks and IMO I think thats the reason not much progress has been made through the PMP program. I feel that it is slightly under par, well atleast the tracks you got up there.

I feel the same way about my music too though, I have made slight progress on it, few subscribers, some tv and movie placement work offer etc.. but no major offers as of yet.

I spoke to Abom on the phone...he personally let me know that the people behind the scenes at PMP are fvckin with me and the music that I make, and A&R's have their eyes on me...he told me to keep banging em out, and it's only a matter of time.

What's funny is I get progress in numerous other outlets. I think my 1st post may have been misleading. I'm not saying PMP works for no one, Troup, SleepDeez, and many others have gotten huge buzzes thru the site.

But if Igot only got 4 subscribers(2 of which I know outside of PMP)a few "wassup" messages from others I know, and got them all the 1st month on there, been there for 4 months now, not one response to my submissions, but got a million opportunities coming outside of PMP, what should I do?

I'm not knocking PMP. It's a great site if you get acknowlegedd up there, but when your put in the 699 in 700 category, it's a waste of $50. If I was getting the buzz others were getting it would be worth every lick of $500 a month. But my cell rings everyday with an opportunity. The only reason I got a PMP acct. in the 1st place is that Ness's people (who I had already got tracks to)told me to get one.

If it works for you, ride it til the wheels fall off. It didn't work for me, that doesn't make it "bogus" or a "scam", it just isn't for me.

Also keep in mind, most of you don't live in L.A. or have hundreds of industry contacts at your disposal. I'd rather get turned down over the phone than wait forever for a response that's not coming. Everyone's PMP experience will be different. Troup and Sleep would be fools to let there's go.

After I let go of my 0 hit a month PMP, I still got my Major albums I am working on, movie scores, 100+ a day myspace hits and 20-40 friend requests. Everyones got a different outlet, PMP just wasn't mine.

There are only about 5 real dudes on here.... Deranged is one of 'em.

A lot of people are just a net name.

I don't always relate to what Deranged posts... but over the last year or so... I can tell what he posts is not for net glory.

Everything is not for Everybody.

I haven't sold anything on PMP...

I completel agree with this. I cancelled my PMP account a couple of days ago, since I had 5 subscribers, but no comments at all. It's like people subscribed to my page so they could get some free beats. I'm not interested in paying $50 a month for that. I didn't feel like my page was getting any hits, so why pay for something that's not going to get any attention, especially when there's so many people on there. It also distracted me from trying to start up a local scene in a place where there isn't a scene. If I did that, there would be a lot of sales, since there's almost no competition where I live, but still a large market for new music (in bars and clubs). Ultimately, it's cool to try to get tracks to major artists, but when you have the chance to start up your own scene, where you control everything, I'd rather do that with minimal payments (now) than get one or two placements every few months from an already established artist.

Almost off topic but I am going to ask anyways...

How come when I try and listen to anothre producer's tracks It says "You must be logged in to hear available tracks" ????

I created an account and payed as a "producer"

you need to be be logged in as a buyer.

pmp seems to be good but if u got a local hustle or something going already it doesn't seem to be worth it.

If I am NOT mistaken...

Only "Buyers" are allowed to Preview/listen to Producers tracks....

and Just for the record....I think that PMP is a GREAT opportunity for producers with GREAT music!!!!!

Don't get discouraged....Get your weight up....that's all...

(P.S. Shouts out to "ABOM".....He IS a man of his word!!!!! RESPECT)

If I am NOT mistaken...

Sorry....Double Post...

"boo hoo hoo...I been on PMP for 2 months and I aint getting no hits! I'm cancelling my account!!"

and

"wah wah wah...I been making beats for 5 MONTHS, and I still ain't sold no beats to major artists!!! I'm QUITTING!!!!"

Making music takes a LONG TIME of HARD WORK and SACRAFICE!!! I been doing this for 4.5 years, and have gotten NOWHERE in the grand scheme of things. But I understand that getting into this industry takes WORK!!

Keri Hilson (songwriter, The Clutch) said she's been at it for 9 YEARS!! And she JUST now started getting recognition.

Rick Ross said he was seriously rapping for 12 YEARS!!! Then 2 years ago he hit it big with Hustlin'.

Music isn't about instant gratification. It's about long term dedication and commitment. 3 Months ain't long term nor commitment. Neither is 4 years.

You wanna get anywhere in this game, you gotta commit yourself for the long haul.

Oh wait...why am I telling people this. Go ahead. Drop out. Quit.

Less competition for me :)

awhile ago i said that this is something you have to be in for the long haul + everyday grindin', workin' with locals, etc..

why would anybody automatically deal with you even if your ****'s hot without knowin' how you flex? this is a chance not a guarantee to create a relationship beyond a email name or cd dump.

producers we know and love have to keep grindin' hard just for a placement but some people expect to sell instantly. this is another avenue among many. the question shouldn't be who here at fp has gotten a placement but what are you doing to increase your chances.

would it be nice and more beneficial if they showed success stories? sure. is it a nice hustle? no doubt. i wish i had thought of and had the connects to certain a&r's to make it happen. is it guaranteed? hell no. you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. so we just have to convince the horse that they need the water we're offering.
