People kill me with the whole, "if your mad and whining, maybe your beats suck" or whatever logic they come up with. Dudes that have had success on PMP are dudes that got there early when many producers didn't even know about the site yet, then they got "1's" and parenthesis in fronts of their names to show up first under producers searches...then acting like sheer talent alone got them moving on the site.

N*gga please.
lol.....

PMP is dope, its really been working out for me..but like I said from the beginning, nothing can stop me from doing my day to day grinding, getting out the house shaking hands, getting in studios playing your beats for people. Its a great option to get your music out...but unless you're in Wyoming or the middle of nowhere, PMP should never be your only plan to get in the game. If it was that easy everybody would be doing it.

Then i seen someone adding up PMP's number saying how much they make, and that they're caking up...what else did you expect? They're offering a service, and are getting paid for it should they not??

Like Troup said, grinding sending off beats, flyers, etc. All that stuff easily surpasses $50/month when you're doing it on a consistent level.

And this is where I'm at a lost. Half the artists on PMP I can contact directly, send stuff to directly and get feedback from. I thought PMP would widen my span of contacts, I signed up assuming the wrong things. And again, all of you making moves thru PMP would be idiots to close accts. But if you've got no new subscribers or messages over 3 months time, you gotta realize your songs are sitting in a track dump the same way if you mailed off a CD it would sit on a table.

I see some of you want to say I'm "whining and biching" but look what's going on in your life. Some of you think paying $1895 A MONTH RENT and $395 a month for a car is rediculous, but come out to SoCal where a 1 bedroom's $1200 and you need at least 3/2baths, everythings 20 miles away, you won't want to hop in no bucket that might breakdown. For me, it's rediculous to pay $50 a month, be part of a $3500 a month gross margin and recieve absolutely no feedback when I have most of the A&Rs up there's contacts and have familiarized myself with a few outside of PMP... but that's just me if you're getting feedback, it's well worth the $50.

Again, PMP's a great site, very innovative, I probably will sign up again at a later time, but for now, I'm gonna fall back and see where it goes. If it's $200 to sign up when I decide to sign back up, I still will resign if I feel it's worth it. I just got this thing about giving people money and seeing nothing in return. Apparently even Abom understands that, so he personally contacts members when they're getting feedback to let them know. I got absolutely nothing for 3 months. So it's prolly that my beats suck and I'm not industry ready. lol.

By the way, Yukmouth Presents : United Ghettos of America Eye Candy out today on Smoke A Lot/Rap A Lot/Asylum, go cop the CD and DVD(if over 18). I knew I was on it a week after we gave him the song. So you gotta understand why Iwould like hearing a little feedback and when I don't hear anything I feel there's no progression being made worth my $50.

Perfect example : this thread prolly got me 10-15 myspace hits today, but not 1 confirmation that anyone even viewed my PMP page today, I'm not sure I'm even being advertised for my $50, I'd rather pay HHG.com or AHH $200 a month to run a banner for me. But that's me.

What I don't get is you sound like you're trying to convince people that PMP is some scam or something.

PMP isn't gonna be needed for everyone. You're at a point in your career where PMP won't add anything additional to your accomplishments. That's great. Keep on doing what you're doing.

But just because it won't add anything to your grind, doesn't mean that it doesn't add a different dimension to someone elses grind.

Everything ain't for everybody. We all know that. Clearly, you feel that PMP ain't for you. Abom ain't trying to convince nobody that PMP is for them. If it ain't for you, then cancel your account, and keep it moving.

No need for all the talk. That's how I see it, that's all.

I feel ya, but gotta disagree...its FP, a place where people discuss things. Somebody wanted to know some of peoples experiences on PMP before he signed up, nothings wrong with that.

Nah, not a scam at all, a very reliable tool. I apologize if I sounded like that, I was just adressing posts about "whiners and biching" that I felt were directed towards me.

Nothing at all wrong with PMP. In fact alot of right about it. I apologize if I send the wrong mmessage, PMP isn't my problem it's me.

I don't have a www.deRaNged.com for the same reason. ME.

or because someone already has it :D

i think what everyone is talking about is true. pmp isn't good for everyone. if u don't have the contacts then pmp is a good way to get them. it's definitly not only about getting placements. i used to think that's what it was for but i'm understanding like other people say it's almost like one of those music seminars except online. it helps u get ur music heard by label execs and artists not just placing on albums.

Exactly... I havent been on there long enough to give a full review but everything seems to be going in the right direction. My only problem is that I'm 80% HH 20% Soul/RnB for that 20% there is little for the RnB/Soul producer. Im talking actual RnB not the **** that most rappers also rap over. example like old R Kelly shis.. (check link in the sig hear yourself) So getting a market for them records is harder than the HH cus all the A&Rs are mainly asking for HH joints which aint a big deal as 9 out of the 11 tracks are HH hopefully in time they will have more rnb/soul rep's

my fathers name is Ron, I used to just be called Deranged, as I got older people said I reminded them of my dad, and so people started pronouncing it like it was french (duh' ron' jead) so if politically correct, it would be DeRanGed, but yeah, deRaNged just looked cooler.

PMP sounds great and all but at the end of the day no one has still gotten a placement through it right?

^^^True, but the odd thing is that PMP throughout the site and advertisement wise never said it's the place for placements.

basically its a place to get u heard by industry folks that most folks cant get to........

they dont guarantee placement...

feel folks asking the same thing over and over.

Abom already stated if someone was to get placement thru PMP, more then likely they wont find out until 1-3 months time frame
majority of the folks on FP only been signed up for 1-3 months

well people probably have possible placements but they won't know until those albums are released or close to completion.

and like aktr2000 said it's not only about directly getting placements from PMP. it's just getting ur music heard by these a&rs so they might want ur music sometime.

Yeah man.. I've put all mine up and will see what happens. I know the qualities there just need the right ears to hear them.

Does anyone know how long it takes from submitting a dump (lol that sounded wrong) to the screening process to the A&R?
