so who on this site has gotten placements through PMP so far?

Anyone having trouble loading the site tonight? They seem to be updating the servers or somthin...

sending beats to a&r's is cool but I think you will have a better chance if you do it local. what I mean is find a rapper with some talent get a buzz with that artist locally (ie frestyle battles, talent shows, rap battle etc...) once you do that you an that artist make a quality album press it and sell it locally if you sell 10 thousand independently labels will see that you got a product that might make them some money and they will want to invest alot of time and money in to your artist cause you already showed them you can sell when sending you produt to the label make sure it is professional include a vid of your artist peforoming along with some of there fans giving them props make it look like your doing big things in your area then BAM!!! your on its just an idea im in the process of getting this plan started holla!!!!

not so easy if you live somewhere with a weak hip hop scene and a relatively low population...sometimes the net and things like PMP are the better option, but I see what your saying all the same

anyone ever hear of young joker? he ****'s with Meech wells and ariel berkal? well they sold 80,000 copy's of their cd and still not hittin the big timers yet.... so its not always as easy as that my friend. still, you have a point for people with a larger scene. i mean in New York man those cats be havin everything at their disposal. up here in canada on the far west coast we aint got SH!T

Well, I don't seem to be getting any people checking out my PMP page. I think it might reach a point where there might be a lot of people willing to pay $50 a month, even if their music isn't necessarily where it really needs to be, which can make it that much harder to get your music heard on there. I'm not saying I'm that great, but I also don't think I'm THAT bad - I guess I'm a little surprised I've got absolutely no feedback so far on PMP.

of course finding an unknown rapper is the best idea to blow up but let me say this. good luck finding a unknown rapper who is motivated to actually get that big. they're 1 in 10,000.

Well PMP just got a new member who is sure to get some placements :)
Good luck to everone else who is a member as well !

PMP just started...

It just showed up on FP by accident about 3 months ago...

You can't be real desperate and expect people to just jump on the first thing you post. It's pro's on there.

If you went to the FP Hip Hop reviews section and saw 10 HOT BLAZIN' HOTTER THAN JUST BLAZE FIYAH THREADS.... you probably can image how somebody listening to the track dumps feels.

Subscribers are the key... they're checkin' for you.

... that's the most you can hope for outside of a flat out offer.

Make music and stop worrying about what everybody else is doing.

Far west? Try far east! and I mean really far east! But I know what your sayin haha.

Biggrome I see what your saying and I agree with some of it. But I don't think its bad to be curious about how others are doing on the site. I've gotten a couple subscriptions, and i'm even lucky enough to have a featured track on the homepage, but I'm curious how others are doing with it.
Yes there are people who think they are goona immediately get placements or somthin (like me maybe? lol), But I guess it takes joining a site to really see that your tracks are not nearly up to industry par

I think it's bad to be curious, lol.

Curiosity, Jealousy and Hatin' are 3rd cousins...

Nothing is going to happen that's not meant to happen... Young James The Hot Blazin' Flame of the Durty Game might get placed before you if the right person likes the song... can't do nothing about it.

Have you heard lip gloss or lip stick or whatever it's called. NAH MEAAAN!!!!

Is there any reason for people that aren't making so-called "commercial" rap to join PMP?

People who striclty sample and is on that real hip hop ish?

If i'd be into selling beats, i would most def join up.. 40% my stuff is sample-based shyt. I don't see any reason why not, but as everyone has said, you need to have HOT beats. no use throwing stuff that wouldn't be in top 10 at soundclick, just a waste of money.
It seems to be a good place to connect, if you get enough placements through it you can drop out later.
Also, was it Win-Tip who got connected with AZ through it..? Not exactly the most commercial mc..

... but you're wrong. All kinds of stuff is being requested.

I can't make all of it though... and I wouldn't try and embarrass myself like that. Don't do RnB and cross your fingers hoping somebody is dumb enough to think that it's good if you don't do RnB that often.

I just do me... and I've gotten some subscribers... (because as I've stated before, I am the living embodiment of Hip Hop, ummm hmm... if I shake your hand, you'll bust some windmills right on the spot. Might get your clothes dirty and all o dat...)

I'm doing club banga this upcoming weekend though... or at least I'll attempt it.

I'm already doin what I like. That's not the case. I'm not going to change up the way I do it just for PMP. I'm just wondering if there was any at all demand for hip-hop like that.

What time of the summer? we're having lots of hiphop gig's this year, Nas is just next monday, Qbert on friday, Kool G Rap is 27.6., DMX is coming, Game (apparently with Chamillionare), Kanye & Lil Wayne etcetc..

You gotta check out Redrum (club), monday's are the hiphop-oriented days.. Place is one of Funktion 1's reference club's, they have made whole sound system in it.. it's like the bentley of club audio.

PMP is NOT for feedback. You aren't gonna get people saying "your track is nice, butyou shoulda done this." You're only gonna get subscribers if they are feeling what you do, and feel like your music would serve their needs sometime in the future, and you're only gonna get hit up for music if someone is taking your track to their artist, or wants to buy something.

PMP is NOT track reviews. It's not there for you to get "feedback". If you're at the level where you need "feedback" on your tracks, then PMP is not the place for you. Like Rome said, you're dealing with the REAL INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS on PMP. They don't need feeback. They just need a check.

Also, someone said that they were curious as to what other producers were doing on PMP. I'll be the first to set that off...

1) Rad sent me a message saying he was taking one of my tracks to Yung Joc for his first single off his summer album. He said Joc liked it, but didn't LOVE it. They are looking for something bigger than It's Going Down. He also told me to keep that fire coming!

2) Had an offer from some indie dude down in australia to buy a track and a hook for 1k, exclusive. I turned him down.

3) Got a message from AZ (read the XXL PMP Article) that said my Nightmare track was hot, and that they play it all the time in the office.

4) Here is my subscription list....

05/21/2007 3rd Coast
05/20/2007 Red Hawk Ent
05/08/2007 Goldie Stallone
05/03/2007 Punch
04/21/2007 Riggs Morales/Shady
03/08/2007 RAD/BAD BOY
03/08/2007 xquiz
02/24/2007 RAD/BAD BOY
02/20/2007 abom
02/20/2007 AZ

I hope this helps people to let them know that PMP DOES work. The painful truth about it, is that if you're not getting any hits or subscriptions, then the people aren't interested in the music you've been submitting. But that's not to say that they won't ever be. Keep working, keep getting hotter, and keep participating (NOT FLOODING) the track dumps, and keep putting newer, hotter material on your page.

That's about it...hope this helps people's curiosity.
