"The lows of the game are waiting on the cheque. If you got good business, and you working around people who don’t, they want to slow you down. I prefer to have my money in my hand before I come to the studio, so I prefer to work with dope boys on an independent level. With these major labels, they don’t even give you a deposit sometimes. They need samples like I ain’t even proven myself."

That's some real talk.

He see's it as that because he's hardware, alot of hardware producers prolly think like that, it's easy to get a beat down in there, but it takes talent and hardwork to make a beat truly great. The easy way out is ghost production.

I used FL an jus recently I picked up a MV-8000 an I gotta say hardware >>>>> software .. its jus so much better workflow an feel while ya workin, lot funner also..

One thing that I'll give software is the ability to work in such little and minor detail, but hey sync ya hardware to the DAW an there ya go.

Everybody skipped the whole good interview and concentrated on the Fruity Loops comment. Typical FP. I used FL and gotta say that **** was very easy to use. Shawty Redd ain't lying.

Jay-Z...

I used to like him. When I did Drama ‘Left, Right, Left’, he invited me to the ‘Is That Your Chick’ video shoot in 2000, and talked to me for 30 minutes to an hour, talking about the game. And then when I saw him at the video shoot of ‘Soul Survivor’ with Young Jeezy a year or so ago, he didn’t know who I was. I walked up and said "Hey, do you remember me?" and he said no, so I said "Remember the guy who produced Drama ‘Left, Right, Left’ who chopped it up with you at the video shoot?". He acted like he remembered, but he didn’t really, I could tell he was lying, and then he walked off.

that **** had me rollin!!!

he "used to like him," but now he doesn'tcuz he doesn't remember him? lol.... he even walked up to him and asked "hey, do u remember me?" and when he said no, he decided he doesn't like him any more? lol

he got some ill ass beats tho

imho it's all about the filter. use a LP filter with maybe some resonance. gotta have good samples, or (heh) a real TR-808. need good samples, i got 24 bit wavs of an 808, will send them over for free if u want.

Haha. Nah - I do get that asked a lot though. Called AppleCare the other day and the dude asked if I was Scott Ian. Apparently, there's a producer from L.A. who's also a trained pianist who's also called Ian Scott. Some singer who I was talking to a few months ago (signed to Interscope) said he'd heard my name around. Was not sure if I was getting my name around (he'd be in contact with some people who know me) or if he was talking about the OTHER Ian Scott. Haha.
