so what are the best settings for the tech's...
i mean the weight and the torque stuff???

depends on ur needle...
and u can't adj. the torque :D

dependson the needle u say

well ive got the ortofon nightclub.... e or the o 1, im not sureputi payed extrafor the betterneedle
so whats the best setting

hmm, u can put a nightclub on 2-5 grams
put it on 2 and see if it skips (scratch a bit, do some hard back cueing...) if it does, put more weight till it won't skip
if it doesn't, leave it on 2 grams
and leave antiskate at 0

weight...skate

shouldn't the anti-skate be set at the same setting as the weight? I have my ort. scratch @2.5g and the skate @2.5

nope...
antiskate should be set to 0 in most cases...

if your using the any of ortofon concorde pro models be sure to set the height to 6, i set my weight at 3, and antiskate at zero and never have troubles with cueing or skipping.

The height adjustment for Concordes as Trackmasters or Groovemasters from Stanton should be 0 mm.
When the tonearm is on the record it has to be paralell to the record, so in your case (I got Concorde Nightclubs too)
the height adjustment should be 0 mm.
In the specs from Ortofon they recomend to put 3 grs. of weight to the Nightclubs.
As for the antiskate you can try with different values. I got mine set at 3 too and it never skips. If it does as Angelic sayd put it at 0 or 1,5.

i explained the antiskate issue in some other post...
"antiskate should be set at 0 as far as i know...
on S arms, when the vinyl is spinning clockwise, inside force is generated...
what antiskate does is creating an outside force to cancel the inside force
BUT!
ur a DJ! and ur not just letting ur vinyl spin clockwise!
u also (when scratching, or CUEing...) spinning it counterclockwise! and when spinning counterclockwise an outside force is generated, so that + the antiskates outside force = more chance to skip..."

I have Ortofon Concorde NCs and my settings are:

Height: 6mm
Weight: 3.5g
Anti: 3

Never skips unless a records bowed. And I do lots of backcueing.

If you have the height adjustment at 6 mm. you could see that your tonearm is angled downwards to the record and not paralell as it should be. Try to put it at 0 mm. and you'll get a mutch better sound.

please read the insructions enclosed with the ortofons. becuase of their height compared to a headshell style the height ring should be set to 6.

Ortofon NightClub Concordes come with two manuals, one with the mounting instructions and the other with the specs of the cartridge. They don't say nothing about the height adjustment but the Stanton's manual does for the Trackmaster and Groovemaster series. Stanton manuals says the height adjustment has to be 0 mm. The Concorde and Trackmaster or Groovemaster cartridges have the same haight so the Ortofon Concorde series height adjustment should be 0 mm too.
The cartridges that need different values of height are the ones that are screwed to the headsell and that's the main reason, because there are different models with different heights.

Ok guys, I just set up my new system. I need some help. I have 1200-mk2's that are used and whitelabel cartridges and needles. What settings should I be using to set up my tables?
