Just to be fair, I have definitely peaked out on Reason 4 before. Combinators and low latency settings can definitely have a profound effect on the CPU usage.

@Xabition, ok, cool. I see your set up, cool.
I really like the MPK though, it's good for me and I love the feel and the functions. I am not a deep tech when it comes to keyboard controllers, if it feels good, I will rock it and the MPK is working fine. Work flow is good etc.

^^^ true but i haven't had reaon halt on me ever so i'm not going to say it can't happen but hasn't happened to me before so i don't know.

You can save in the Record Beta. You just can't open the file again until you get the full version. I'm assuming it saves your reason stuff within the record save file too.
It's just semantics. They charge for an update from 10.4 to 10.5 but it's a complete overhaul as if it was a whole number upgrade.

My usual is 1 gig max in Reason because I use alot of synths, but I have topped out the memory limitation with the vsl library inside Reason and that was only 1.7-2gb of loaded sounds(the patches are big ,like 100-500mb a patch if I'm not wrong).I use more on fl studio if I start bringing in big vsts.

Yeah man right now I am enjoying the heck outta Record, I aint never mixing in PT ever again! That Mixer in Record is the business and with the MPK I am mixing and having so much fun. The sonic quality and performance of Record's mixer is amazing!
Everything is sitting in front of you on that board, PT you had to tweak and keep on tweaking until you get it right. Now I mix in half that time and it's becoming fun. When I analyze the mix on the Phase scope in T-Racks the mix is tight and good and it sounds so good. I can't believe it.
Editing in PT is no joke, so it's a bit tedious in Record, but I still can rock in it, it's just when you use to something that is hot then have to step three steps back it's like whoaaaaaaa...... I don't complain I just have fun, but if the editing was like that of PT in Record forget about it! so I will be patient with Props and let them add on as it goes, it can only get better.

Xabition, here's my setup, and I am still loading stuff into my Mac haven't finished, and once I do, that's it I will be done.
All the other juicy stuff is in the computer

Man I run my Neumann TML 49 through that sucka and OOOOOOOOOHHHHH WWWWWWWWEEEEEEE! Man you talk about crisp? mannnnnnnn GET THAT AVALON AND STOP PLAYIN! lol I don't know to much about that blue tube but there is another one I forgot it's name, but it's mad expensive. The AV is all you need.

i have. it really depends on your pc. I didnt know the difference of what going from a Celeron processor to a P4 would do in Reason but its a lot. It literally was the difference between Record demos shutting down my machine and running smoothly. Reason can definetly overload your ish if you dont have the right specs

Man that desk has held me down and it's strong as a mofo, it's and antique, it has seen a lot of wear, and Ima keep it until it breaks down! It has nothing to do with how I do music though.
Bruh $20,000 worth where you see that at? You buggin lol My board alone cost $10,000 Gees. My Mac Intel cost $4,000, My Avalon M5 cost over $1,100, and my Neumann Mic cost over $1,100 and we are just talking about four pieces lol so I don't know where you see $20,000 only. I got software that you don't see up the wazoo, and my hardware and money I have spent in the past. From the Powercore firewire to the Motif, I wish I could have only spent $20 Gees. My insurance is over $40 Grand bruh lol

^^^Didn't know you have an M5. How you chaining it?What mic you using? I can't get a clean sound out of mine(bought off someone)starting to think it may be broke/worn. It sounds good but I expected better. Even with filters off, sounds kinda "muffled". I think it sounded better before, but switched around my room, could be the problem.

Yeah last year at the end of the year I started getting all my stuff. I got the board, my Mac etc. Ima do a video take peeps through my journey of getting the new gear.
I have a brand new Neumann TML 49 I call that the big head mic lol I run that through the Avalon M5 and that joint is crisp. I can run that straight into my 003Rack, that's new to before I had the 002Rack with 7.4, now I got PT 8. But I will be doing vocals in Record from now on.
What type of mic are you using?
LOL Nah man I don't have a lot I have exactly what I need to make music, and specially what's on a stage in order to make a track especially RnB, you need all the instruments that are on stage so that's where I am. There are peeps that have way more than I have. I can't even compare. what I did was get the top notch stuff and not no rinky dinky non-sense. Right now the music can go straight from me to the mastering plant!

that is actually what i like and my setup is very hands on. I didnt appriciate this setup for what it was Ive had it since 2005 and I went hardware in 2007 going back to just these controllers and Reason makes me appriciate what i had a lot more now

Propellerhead software run they co. Like apple.. Closed but qauality!!! Nothing missing nothing broken! I say that while being a pc/ android guy! I love ph i got everything i need in one software.. The least you have the more creative become, thats how "hip-hop" was created!
