Neptune is outdated and Overrated. I just got back from my friends house who got the beta today. All Ima say is that a lot of people will be highly pissed off about the upgrade but at least we got tap tempo. Still no midi out thoughNeptune is not a synth. exactly alot of people look at stuff and expect to be wowed right away but never understand with record/reason it always about the routin capabilities.

Yeah, he's just talkin about the obvious capability. But, how about the not so obvious? Exactly! There's more to it than you think it is.
All I can say is, being a heavy Ableton user, when Reason 5 with Record update will come out, I'm not gonna use Ableton Live 8 for production anymore, will use it for Live stuff though. That's how good it is.(For me)

man Neptune is droppin tomorrow Im going to let the cat out the bag and say that its a sound that has been raped by rappers for a while now. I dont know what else its good for but its only in Record so not many people will use it and its not a digging tool.

Fridays upgrade will be major though. Danoc and anyone else with a mpc put it on ebay now because Reason 5 is the new mpc killer! And anyone who knows me and how I feel about hardware knows I would never say that unless this module was mean.

listen i LOVE working within reason and record. i understand and actually appreciate the closed nature of the program. i love the simple modular capabilities that makes imaginative routing combinations fun and intuitive.
BUT i would be lying to myself if i said that i wouldn't love to use synths like massive and fm8 in reason. i wish i could load up zebra in reason and use my audio damage and d16 plugs.
calling people "rookies" because they want to use plugins in reason is ignorant and screams of fanboyism.
and in relation to reason 5. i won't talk about features and spoil the suprise but i will say that i am very happy with some of the added features. particularly with two of them...

Well you said no Midi out,(how do you really know though there's no midi out?) but I and others have to wait to see if they will put that in. It matters to me none because I rock tracks in Record with my out gear already but it would of been nice and you won't see me complain. I just feel sorry for those that put midi out in the forum and it was the most requested. I love suprises that's why I didn't do beta testings. This is like Having 5 days of 4 of July, Your Birthday, Thanks Giving, Christmas then the New Year to kick off the last explosive Celebration on that fifth day, in a row! That's enough to make you go nuts lol But I love it lol
Now far as my MPC, nah brother I don't care how dope Reason 5/Record 1.5 is I am not getting rid of my MPC, no way! I aint selling that. Being I have made a decission about my Vst's and Vsti's I will use those in PT8. I will say it again, I have two ways to produce, MPC+PT8, and then Record. I like it that way, so I will NEVER rely just on software alone, my mind doesn't work like that, I like to have a back up and be very dang on sure. If it's like the MPC then my MPK88 will LOVE IT AND CONFORM which will make it better for me. So If I want to use Plugins I go to the MPC if I am not I Have Record so I have a dual way to produce. If my MPC broke down, heck I will be on Ebay or somewhere to buy another one.

Damn, since the announcement tomorrow seems like its not going to personally excite me much this "mpc killer" feature better have something to do with slicing and sampling damnit(oh and timestretching)!

You could be right but you could be wrong. The Beta testing is basically the testing of the software, if they were to implement midi out it's not something that need beta testing they can add that or have that added in the end process when they are going to actually drop the software of both. So we have to see at the end of the process. X man you couldn't hold 8 river crickets in a soaked tissue lol you just let out some of the news man lol:rofl:
