Do you use the 2000 much since getting the 2500?

Not really. I've spoiled myself with the extra RAM that the 2500 has. Forced me to be a little less creative with my sampling and chopping, but it has also allowed me to do some things that I wasn't doing on the 2000XL; the RAM as well as the time stretching and pitch shifting, which I don't have on the 2000XL, YET). But I do miss the smoothness of the jog wheel on the 2000XL.

My setup.

Basic.. but i try and make the best of it! Still need to get the monitor issolation foam! soon enough though haha.

Enjoy! & peep my youtube(in sig) and subscribe if you haven't already!

Stay encouraged Swami! It takes time to get where some of the others are but you will get to where you wan't to be! Just keep making music and working with what you have! You have more than enough to get the music out man! I am hating on you for that padkontrol myself!

Not to take too much space where there should be photos but if I may....
I came up(grew up)going to and looking at the old studios with the analog systems and all the lights and knobs and hardware so in my mind that is what a "music studio" was supposed to look like. I would look at my place and just would not see it as a "true" music studio because of such. It was not until a friend of mine who had a "true" studio surprised me one day when I went to his place for a session and I found out that he had sold of almost all of his hardware and went software! It is all in how we perceive things people. A lot of the major producers put out hits with what most of the cats on this site have and in some cases less. I know of a couple running off of a laptop and a controller! What we see on videos is usually what affects our mentality that unless we have a full counsel with mad equipment we cant put out decent products! Don't believe the hype future producers! Use what you got until you can get what you want and don't feel bad about what you don't have! I am going to post my pictures up in the next day or so and you can see my humble studio settings. I am far from where I want to be but thank God he has brought me from where I was! Not just studio wise but mentally! If I kept waiting to get to where I "wanted" to be before I started really doing music and working with people,I would never have gotten started! Sorry for the rant people! It was just on my heart to give a simple word of encouragement! Thanks!

Oh, and for the older members..... Its never too late to do what you were made to do! Some of these younger members may have some tight studios but you do what you can with what you have for right now! Your family, work or other responsibilities may make it take longer but don't be discouraged and think it will never happen! "His" time is not always our time! Press on!

Co-Sign this 100 percent! ill dig up my first "Studio Setup" picture when i get home. But it was literally just my desk + laptop and edirol midi controller for about the first year i started making beats. They sounded bad (its actual meaning) they were not that great but one thing i did pick up during this time was learning my way around my DAW, which was and still is FL Studio. Not to sound cliche but when people say i learned from youtube it is truth its like school but free ... but anyway now im ranting .... :D but i agree and to stay true to the post Pics coming later on tonight

Actually,these should be better pictures.

Main Workstation:

Secondary Workstation:

Main system
27inch Imac w/ 8gb Ram
I mainly use Logic Pro 9.1.3 and I rewire alot with Reason 5 but I do dabble with Protools 8 and I was a DP6 user before I got into Logic.
I have a fair amount of plug-ins,vsts and sofsynths such as:
Komplete 7(full) - Lexicon-Ozone4-Melodyne-Antares Studio(full)-AbbyRoad-D16 group(all)-Focusrite-IK Multimedia-Slate Digital-Soundtoys-Waves-Voxengo-BFD2-Voxengo-Korg and a lot of different software synths sounds from korg,yamaha,etc....
Secondary system
12inch G4 Powerbook w/ 1.5gb Ram
I use this system mainly to get more inst. into my system without taxing my cpu.I run Logic 8,Reason and DP7 of off it and it is used as a sound module. It mainly runs Komplete or should I say Kore2 or Kontakt player because I mainly use those as sound modules for when I have my keyboard player come in to fill in some tracks for me.(I play enough to get by and accompany someone but I can't do a lot of fancy stuff, yet!) I have all the software sound modules from the Triton keyboards,Motiffs,Phantoms,Trinity,Juno,Emu,Korg xp50,Trinity,etc... Old school to new school,I have the sounds! I keep them on separate external harddrives for both systems. I will give a more complete listing of the hardware that you can not see like the guitars and drums and my microphones hopefully tomorrow. My studio is far from complete but it works for now! I will also try to dig out my before and after photos of this room and my first "desk" set.

I don't know about you but I made usable beats in my first year

Here's my CHEAP homestudio, i'm 16 years old and i recently started with all this. but hey i think i'm getting alone pretty nicely.

also don't mind my low budget creativity, since i couldn't afford a standard for my microphone i just took a plank ducktaped it onto my desk and ducktaped my microphone onto that plank. and to kill some sound going into it i ALSO ducktaped my Beats by dre cover ontop of it hehe. when i get some money in a few months ima buy a standard that's for sure!
