You are like me. It's better to have and not need, then to need and not have. Beware, people with nothing will hate on you. don't take it to heart. Nice set up!not pictured, roland jd800..its getting painted by uk by custom synth.
korg oasys, getting fixed. and ah the neko xxl, thats in the mail.
work hard play hard, buy gear you dont need or know how to use!!!!
LOLZ. learn how to use it later. you got to buy it first right? how are you going to learn how to use it if you dont have it or know someone whose willing to let you put your greasy hands on thier expensive gear?
its a hard thing to deal with, you work your ass off to buy the stuff you want but, you work so much that you never get time to use it.....life sucks sometimes, but nothing good comes without sacrifice.
right? or should we just always wish we had what we want?
Thats awesome dude. I mean im sure no one can hate now.the esq-1 is really cool.
i bought it cheap off ebay because it was "broken"
or whatever. Went I got it, it would only trigger the BRASS
preset. so I called THESONIQ in LA and he sent me the CHIPS
to update the system. he helped me install it over the phone.
If you have problems with ENSONIQ gear hes the man to go to.
but I'm sure you all know that already.
I got alot of carts for the esq-1. but yeah the ESQ1 is really cool.
and its real cheap. i mean any synth is cool. I like to sequence my synths with the mpc 4000, then I like to sample its sequenced output into the mpc and manipulate it there. the internal effects of the mpc are cool i guess. whatever.
more money than sense....true. i guess but,
who cares about money?????? and sense is a relative concept.
sense to you might not be sense to someone else.
what should I spend my money on if not on things that
interest me? apparently the things that interest me, interest all of you as well. I would imagine that almost everyone on this forum has, or has had, gear acquisition syndrome? no? just me?
why do I have all that gear? cuz i wanna have a sick home style studio/collection with TONS of samplers, and TONS synths and drum machines and effects processors, and software synths and daws. I want to walk into my studio and see the manifestation of my hard work. i want to be able to record other people. It's got to be one of the most coolest hobbys on earth, a home recording studio. I dont want to restore some vintage car. i dont want to do anything with my money except buy gear. thats it. i dont want to spend my money on clothes, or drugs, or dvds, or pornos, or tattoes, or sneakers, or jewelry, or a huge lcd brainwash me Television, or anything except GEAR. thats it. whats wrong with that? it makes me feel what I would describe as satisfaction. my hard work, pays off. and i work hard. like, too hard. i work 12 plus hour days all the time, i work weekends, and I go to college. I bust my ass for what i have. it sucks that I never get time to use it all, but when i do, its really rewarding to me.
in case anyone was wondering, the SIDSTATION is ALL that its cracked up to be. for real, its DOPE. i recommend you get one if you have the opportunity to. people can hate on it because it costs so much, well whatever, i bought mine for $800 and to me, thats totally worth it. it puts out some really awesome sounds, especially when you midi it with the korg z1 and use the x-y pad for example. SICK!!!!!!!!
i like making alternative style hip hop instrumentals....I've been making beats since the mid 90's, the first thing I ever bought was a 2000xl.
I decided to buy the mackie 32.8 because i want to really get into dub reggae on an analog mixer. if any of you guys use it and care to give me some pointers on how you use it....I would appreciate it. the dash studios custom desk is a really awesome space saver. donald hawkins over there at dash studio furniture in oklahoma is really awesome, he can customize any desk or rack, or whatever for you, however you want it. if youre thinking of getting a custom desk, I'd recommend them.
