-Event Precision 6 Monitors

-Akai LPD8

You're pretty much gonna have to use headphones in that setup. You're gonna have all sorts of problems with comb filtering, bass resonance, etc., in that narrow closet. No offense -- that's just how it goes.

With that said, you have a really nice clean-looking setup. Just find a way to move it into a bigger room ASAP if you want your monitors to provide anywhere near the level of accuracy that they've been designed to reproduce.

Hi Everyone

This is my 1st post but been getting some useful info off of here for a few months, just reading and learning so thank you all for the wealth of information provided by yourselves on this forum.

I'm just starting out so mine's very basic right now, but it suits my purpose for the time being, Mine setup consists of as follows:

A Mac G5 2.0 ghz 2gb RAM (bought it refurbished)
Logic Pro 9
Korg K61 Controller (was given to me)
Alesis 320 usb monitors
I also have a mic which that was recently given to me but I need a pre-amp.

I would avoid hanging your headphones on your speakers like that.

Have you ever seen what happens to an analog TV when you stick a magnet next to the screen?

The drivers in headphones and speakers are both driven using magnets. Generally, you don't want to store sensitive electronic equipment near magnets.

I hear you but there's plenty of space behind me, also I have a VRM box to help with that! They do mix very well though and sound amazing, I was gonna get some KRK's rokits and im soo happy I found these used instead they sound 10x better.

Ok thanks for the info, I didn't realise but I learn something new everyday. I have a bigger table now so I just put the headphones on there now.
Thanks again.

Some reorganizing for better hands-on-a-bility & got a Waldorf MicroQ the other day.

I like 'em. Shitty position acoustically, but space is very limited; they work pretty fine at the low volumes I usually need to work at.

4 years ago, I was on a tight budget. Then I got a whole bunch of stuff, then I figured out exactly what I needed...which is usually a fraction of what you think you need. When you make a whack beat on your setup, you'll say, "I need to get some new equipment." When you make a dope beat, you'll say, "This is all I need." 99% of everything you need to make a beat, you've had your whole life--your brain, your creative conciousness and your internal drive.
exactly! all of Lex Luger's hits last year were made on the same laptop as me... :D

Here you go. Gotta clean up a bit... that extra empty space on the 61SL mkII is great for setting stuff on.

Excited to add the KORG MicroKey 61 when it comes out, KORG's lightweight mini keys are very playable and GREAT for synth stuff.

i do the odd bit of online radio when im in the mood but use the mic a lot for other stuff like chatting to people online. i needed that kind of stand because of limited desk space and i dont need to take it apart or move it around when its not in use.
