Dunno really I just post music to share with people, but I like Soundcloud, its easy to use, you can keep track of other peoples music and comment and stuff. If I really wanted to push my music I'd join PMP or something though.

about a handful of people from FP have gotten some good major work from PMP. Not sure about how much indie work they are getting but with all things it depends on the quality of your work to get notice on PMP.

Whats wrong with media player? I like media player though I am getting more and more used to using Itunes for everything. Hated Itunes on windows xp it runs much better on windows 7
