Yeah, I know what you mean, but for me its about finding the right M.O and when I find things that make my work flow better than I will use them. I openly admit that I don't use every piece in my studio to its fullest. I also know that I have redundancy in my studio, but again, its about workflow for me. If a piece of gear does something really well than I will use it for that and even though it might do more, I might have another piece that I like to use for another purpose. I hope that makes sense? Plus, I learn ish very quickly, that part is easy for me.

I work all the time man and what time I do get to spend in my studio is precious to me, so for me its all about having the gear the makes my workflow easier , quicker and simpler. Some might say that having a ton of gear does the opposite, but I don't agree if you have the right gear for you. Also, I am not rich but I make a good living and so I do what I love with it! LOL!

The only things that I have bought new in the last year have been, the LaunchPad, the upgrade to Live 8, Maschine and the Little Phatty. So, I don't buy a ton of new gear now, just a few select things here and there. Also, if a piece of gear doesn't get used, I will get rid of it, or if I find something that makes a process easier I will swap it out.

Just out of curiousity, is the foam strategically placed (i.e. in a calculated position to help the acoustics) or is it more roughly placed and serve more of a decorative purpose?

I was also wondering if you always have your speakers like that, DXsnipe? It doesn't screw up the stereo imaging?

i get you bruv. the problem with the regular "image position" is the speaker on the right. when i move it close to the wall near the mixer, i get more "fake" bass reflecting off the walls and since am not yet working with pro monitors, i cant cut or adjust anything.
