Adam- Not trying to be a jerk, just looking out for your gear... Is there any way you could fit a third crate on there for your mixer? I ask this for many reasons. 1. Resting the mixer on your tables will eventually scratch your decks a lot. 2. You may not be getting the skip resistance that you want because when you are banging around the cross fader, that vibration may also be going to the turntable. 3. There is not a lot of room on the sides of the 1200, and if you hit the mixer just a little bit either way, you could make teh mixer contact one of the platters, causing the tech to do some bad stuff...

Good call, I'll give that a look. The only thing limiting scratching on the deck surfaces is that the mixer is actually blu-tacked on instead of resting, so yeah, might have to go on another crate raiding mission. Cheers!

neat console, Peasant.. what about a nice record-rack underneath it instead of those silly blocks?

blu-tack? does that mean glue or soemthing??

Its like sticky-tak...dont worry..;)

Ive been tryin to post pics since forever now but my camera-disk thing that tranfers the photos to my comp is bein a total arse..

so..nice set ups everyone!:victory:

i wanted to post this on a new topic but screw it. in my ever changing setup, i recently added a new item to the collection. this one i've been wanting for a long damn time. when i do house parties i usually take my gear with me and have them rent the speakers and amps. so when i've taken the gear i've usually carefully moved my xone with the setup or just used my pmc-25...NOW i have a case for the xone. we had a road ready (the company that we do a lot of business with on flight cases) rep come in to measure gear and fit smallish mixers to new cases, he brought this one with him for the xone and for any other rackmounted 16channel mixers. since the piece he brought with him was a sample, i offered to buy it from him, we agreed on a price of 60 bucks!!!! so now i've got a case that perfectly fits the 464, looks awesome, and protects my baby.

now everything has it's case...or, place.

I must say I have never seen that mixer before..and it is massive! A beast...

Glad you found a cage for it. :D

Dave, your shiz looks sweeter with every passing day you damn gear freak. I think I'm gonna have to buy something soon, I'm getting withdrawl... Where do you live again? ;)

you really have to think outside the typical box of dj mixers to hapily own this thing. it's big..reeel big, but it's great at the same time. it feels like a big dj'ing console to me.

yes, i'm very pleased to have a cage for the monster!

David, I'm looking to get cases just like yours for my 1200s. How much for two?

just curious

i'm just curious, but a lot of set ups have ur tables and mixer far apart. obviously is depends on the mixing style and type of music u play, but isn't that annoying having ur equipment so far away. i have two techs and an 06. haha ok the 06 is real slim, but even for mixers that are thicker like and 07 or a 56, u can still have ur tables closer to the mixer then i saw. one set up i saw, it was tight, it had a custom made console, but the tables were so far away. that would piss me off, i like having my **** right in front of me. I spin hip hop, i know that mixing style is completly different from house or techno.. give me ur input on this, but personally, i like a tight, close packed set up.

I mix hip hop at school, and trance and house at home, and I have a different type of set up for each. For hip hop, I have every as close together as possible, and turntables in 'battle' position. But for long mixes, I have turntables laid out normal style behind the mixer. Personally, I prefer these styles for the different types of mixing. For the hip hop set up, everything is set up in close proximity and is easy to access fast, and for the mixing set-up, I have it positioned in a way that I can have my hands and volume and pitch pots for several minutes at a time and not get uncomfortable. After all that, in the end, it all comes down to personal preference...
