monitor placement question

I've been doing some research on monitor placement as I'm going to be relocating my setup into a better room, and am going to be building a new desk. From what I've been reading on here and elsewhere, people say I should have the monitors be equal distance from each other as they are from me, forming an equilateral triangle. My issue is that I'm currently running a triple screen setup for my computer, and the center of the cones on the speakers would end up being 5 feet apart. It would be quite awkward to be sitting 5 feet back from the screens.
I have three 19" widescreen computer monitors, and a pair of Rokit 5's.
Any ideas you could throw my way would be appreciated. I'm cringing at the thought of having to go back to two or, god forbid, one screens! :shame:
 
nothing says that they have to be at the same height as the displays

think outside of the box and you may find it easier than you think

Hmm, I suppose having the displays lowered and facing upwards rather than straight on could accommodate that, not really what I had in mind though. I'll have to think about that one. Would give me an excuse to build an even cooler desk though. hehe
