He is dope but I just dont get inspiration from him like Tim & Danja or The Neptunes & Dr. Dre they inspire me

JD has a right to talk and walk the way he does...look at that man's track record...

Writer, Producer, Music Executive. Everything he TOUCHES goes gold and platinum, and he's been doing it since he was like 15 years old!

JD gets as much respect as Dr. Dre from me.

Ambitions Of A Rider - Tupac, but no I think Dupree came with simular notes and chords but not at all the same track, I dont even think he purposley used those sounds and chords, it probably just went like that. Especially when some one uses a piano for the bass line, theres tons of songs that do that and they will sound simular too.

Welcome to Atlanta is an Old Smokey Robinson sample....

Not to mention that he's been hired in high positions on labels like Virgin & Island Def Jam for a reason.......

hes on top. got VIrgina nd def jam records on lock. and he got some of that jackson $$(not like that a lot of $ these days) from janet

JD has a great track record. You can't take that away from the man, but JD just doesn't stand out to me.

I've never been in awe over a JD record, like I would over a Dr.Dre or Timbaland record.

I guess JD is the go to guy for RnB, considering he makes that better than the aforementioned producers.

IDK...JD is JD. Take it how you perceive it.

If you were old enough at the time, you were in AWE over Da Brat's Funkdafied. There was no other choice BUT to be.

He wrote and produced that.

1994 and I am still in awe of Funkdafied to this day. Classic material. That beat for Jump was crazy for the time too.

Impressive, but not inspiring. He's a fantastic and groundbreaking R&B producer/songwriter/exec for me, but that's it.

As stated earlier, JD has the respect he rightfully deserves.......

Trust me...I'm old enough to remember these tracks.

But even as a youngster, I thought Funkdafied was his attempt to cash in on the westcoast sound of the time. That track is hot, no doubt, but still suspect in my eyes.

Now Krisskross...I can dig that.

What? Where's Jermaine's new roster? Not knocking, but the biggest thing he got going right now is Mariah, I'm not aware of any "new" acts he's presented in the last year...I could be wrong.

Unless you're referring to DFB? In that case, my point is proven.
