I don't even go by the name spectral beats anymore. That's old ish.

Pretty good looks like those full sail classes helped out good. Do you want a cookie?

don't you guys get that school is brainwashing you guys ok for example in kindergarten they told you in order to make a million you will probably have to save up until your 60 lol who the **** wants to do that lol, you guys dont get that the biggest scam in history is college remember, the only way they can make money is to keep you in debt lol something to think about? lol

schorchin and desmond how old are you guy's?

college opens a lot of doors to a lot of regular jobs that u could not otherwise get. the secret is going to a trade or tech school and getting the experience in a field you want rather than getting book knowledge and then still cant get a job. Book smarts mean nothing if u have never done it. I can tell you how to change an altenator in a car but I have never done it and don't want to because I don't want to **** anyone's car up. Jobs and collegeare kinda the same way.

I mean **** school. Im in my second semester of a community college and I hate that shit.

Im not "an idiot" or dumb either. I just dont like that shit. I have met COUNTLESS people who got bachelors and are incredibly underemployed or unemployed completely. Like im talking cant even find a job at staples or something like that... No one is hiring now days....the economy is terrible. All that improvement talk is bullshit, theyre just manipulating the statistics.

To be considered unemployed you have to have been looking and denied a job for a certain amount of time. They say that the rate is going down, but how many of those people actually found jobs vs. gave up trying?

Im not saying its worthless to go to school at all. The way I look at it is either the economy will get better (and according to basic econ, it will) and the degree will be a life saver once it does, or the economy will collapse and I'll be loading the 12 up and holding it down, lol.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! But dont be a fool on the way there. I wanna drop out so I can fully dedicate myself to my business ventures soooo bad, but im not gonna. My plan is to just finish out this semester of college since I already started it, and get my shit poppin this summer so I dont even have to go back. If winter time rolls back around and I dont have any justification to not go back, then I will go back. But if I can show people like my family that maybe I dont neeeed college at this point, then that would be good. I also plan to get a day job this summer just so I can start paying my bills. Im only 18, so the only thing ive paid here and there when I could was my car insurrance. I want to start paying for my phone, my car, and everything else.

But to do this you cant just sit and make beats and hope they sell off soundclick all day.

Anyway, before this gets too long, I dont agree totally with james and the way hes presenting himself, but i also dont agree with you guys saying **** your dreams, give up, bow down to society and get a degree and a real job. In my opinion that just shows that you never ever really wanted to do this music shit for anything other than a hobby.

I'm in the same position and feel the same way, however you might as well go for one more year to get an AA degree. At least you'll have one to make the resume look a little better.

Sometimes I wonder if I don't enjoy college cause its community but truthfully I've lost interest in pursuing a university. Only because of price though. I mean if the teachers are 50 and still paying off THEIR student loans, what does that say for us. Rather take that $200,000 to start my own business then work for someone elses. I'm plenty intelligent, just don't have the patience and don't understand certain parts of the education system.

For example, why is community college $33 a unit, but a university is 50k a year?
Why does it take 6 years to get a 4 year degree?
Why can't I learn without doing a bunch of homework? This is a big one for me. I enjoy learning but I lose all that knowledge getting stressed from doing copious amounts of homework that is borderline unnecessary. I love school til the homework comes in. That's what makes you hate classes and hate school, makes you start ditching, and eventually drop out. I bet drop out rates would be less without all the dumb homework.

As others said I feel like trade school might be better than college. At least there they have hookups for getting you into an actual job force, and the trade schools are all fairly even in power. In college all the degrees are the same (and most useless IMO) and it seems like a contest for who spent the most money is who gets the job. That Mizzou graduate looks like shit next to someone from UCLA with the same degree, who looks like shit next to someone from Princeton.

I feel like college is like investing, where you already have to be wealthy to even get into it, and once you get out you can even further increase that wealth; but it's really not accessible for a lot of people.

pretty much sums up everything that I wanted to say

Anybody listening to a person that became rich without a high school or a college education and they telling you that you shouldn't either is a fool.

Anybody listening to a person that say you can make a living off of selling beats....look at me..I'm successful doing...never worked for anybody...you don't have to either...is a fool.

Edited the rest of this shit because it's too harsh. lol!

No continue... Why wouldn't you listen to a person who is doing what you want to do?

I never thought that deep into it, but yeah, why do Drew get the hate he does up here. He came from here. Came up asking the questions, making baby steps. He's probably the MOST SUCCESSFUL PRODUCER to show us the grind from ground up on this site. We see it all from the beginning to where he is now just reading his posts.

Where's the negativity coming from with that?

I made a thread saying "Drew is the most valuable FP member" or something. No Stannish ish but the dude came on FP, joked and laughed and did his thing. I've been on here since 2003 and never cared to do shit. Ice Boy is charging people, Drew is basically holding peoples hand and damn near committing career suicide by still phucking around on here.

I don't kiss feet so..... call it whatever fits your thinking. Drew, Deranged and anybody that has ever sold a beat to somebody you've heard of... really don't have to tell FP shit.

I doubt JAMES is Ice Berg.

yall remember when JAMES made that "Whitney Houston's Funeral was a Publicity Stunt" thread?

well, ain't no black folks gone say no shit like that. Not when niggas' moms, grannys and aunts and shit were all die-hard Whitney fans back in the day.

thus, JAMES is not Ice Berg.

fu@k school and college it corrupts people's minds. people can't even get jobs when they come out of college these days. Yeh I'm with you on the attainiable lifestyle but what I do is encourage young people to follow their dreams I'm just saying older people always try to discourage younger people from following their dreams because they didn't accomplish their's( no diss) not saying you didnt but when a kid gets out of highschool their parents always come at them with that college shit smh

You sound like a dude that's real mad, down to your last $10, and can't wait until friday so you can put some gas in your car.

I encourage people to follow their dreams too...just be realistic about it.

I'm not older dude...i'm 35. If you're not 35 yet, it's a lot closer than you think. I'm coming up on my 9th year of chasing the music thing. I came in the door with the understanding that it was going to take about 10-12 years in order to make this so that it is bringing in an income to sustain my standard of living.

I had a realistic plan, and I've been continuing to execute it and modify it, every single day, over the past 9 years. And judging from my plan and my progress, I'm right on target to be where I planned to be, in about 3 years.

Older people have the benefit of EXPERIENCE to apply to life.

And I see too many kids out here "chasing their dreams", with complete reckless abandon, and in 10 years, they are going to end up with no education, a criminal record, multiple kids, and working in a warehouse....

All because they said "fcuk school", and decided they were gonna be a rapper/producer.

And it saddens me.

Nothing wrong with Community Colleges guys. Graduated with my AAS when I was 20. Moms and shit wanted me to get my Bachelors I was like "Nall . . . finna work."

But not having kids at 21 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now.... this is RAW SPIT.

no one on FP is saying to STOP making music.... or else they shouldn't be on FP.

So GLAD! to see people not PLAYING! this weekend.

Anyone of the people with GOOD MUSIC can make it at any given moment, I truly believe that. Hip Hop has not seen it's last big producer.... but be prepared if that's not you. I think that's all everybody is saying.

I agree this is as real as its gonna get, but at the same time you gotta admit that the education system is corrupted.
