I give you these TEN "NEWBIE" COMMANDMENTS

Love the last one. Too many new people do not follow that commandment and it's ****ing annoying

Most important is to have fun and 'do you'. Don't try to be anything other than yourself. That's when the best vibes are made.

very good advice I should "read thy manuals" more often and really get into each software unit before I pursue the next

I think another thing people should think about is to know that what you are making will never be perfect and you need to be able to know when a beat is finished, which is something I have trouble with quite often.

The bit about gear is right on. Very tempting to attempt to compensate for one's novice skills by buying gear, thinking that this other DAW, or that new piece of hardware, will make it all easier and faster. It's temporarily very satisfying, though, before it comes back in form of remorse and feeling overwhelmed. :)

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and I must say, this is a great thread to start off with in my research of music production. My question is, can anyone pm me a good link to learn MIDI? Step one right? Thanks

Lol great thread. Most people don't want to take time to master their craft and researching smh.
