Home Studio Soundproofing

I currently work out of a untreated home studio, and was wondering if sound proofing a room really helps. I was looking into purchasing a reflexion filter portable vocal booth, to improve vocal clarity. I use a Rode NT2A. Should I look into foam wedges as well as the reflexion filter, or should I purchase one or the other. Any other comments or suggestions would be helpful.

bandcoach killed it.

my other input, don't get a vocal thing. invest in something to treat your room to actually get a good sounding stereo monitoring setup.
I use mattressess, pillows, blankets. it's not perfect, but for a home studio I am convinced you can get a damn good sound if done right. try to eliminate corners and symettry is key! couch and full shelves at back of room are amazing, carpet is essential(or rugs). also get some isolation stands for monitors. primacoustic foam pads are nice. I have the ultimate support ms-90s and they are quite nice for stand/isolation hybrid.
