you dont become anything without hard work, dedication, and originality. just dosent happen. look at every single person who is great (not good) at what they do in ANY feild. surgery, teaching, sports, acting, music, art.

Music is moneyless, there is financially no point to spend 11k for the very small chance (emphasis on the bold words) that you make that money back.

Gambling almost never makes money. Statistics people.

If every producer followed the advice in this thread, there would be one rich ass producer, and about 100 producers that are clinically depressed and 11k in debt. Do you really want to risk falling into the second category? Mathematically, clearing samples like this doesn't even make sense.

No matter how much you think you have a hit, you don't know SHIIIIIIT because a hit can always turn out to be a flop.

And like I said, for a producer that already has a name, and an artist that's at least going somewhere, it can be a good investment, but for Mr. "best beats on soundclick" it's really not worth their time or money.

You are dead right here, if you want a real return from anything you have to invest either time, money, effort, all of the above etc etc. I would never have the balls to invest 11g's in music though, glad that you do and it is working out for you (I assume so). How are the returns so far?

But for any normal person that is NOT living off his music (meaning you are working a job other than making music and you are not getting paid enough through your music to even sustain your basic needs) to drop 11k to CLEAR A SAMPLE makes literally NO kinda sense. At all.

Let's think this through. Clearing a SAMPLE means you have the freedom to use a song anyway you want with no threat of legal percussions. ONE SONG THOUGH! If youre anything like me you have countless others.

This thread is all well and good. But its not for the majority.

To be fair, sometimes it really ain't worth it. There's no point spending $1000 on a soundclick design when you can get one that's catchy and professional for $3-400. And to some people, hardware just isn't worth it, depending on their workflow and what they're most used to/comfortable with.

But yeah, it takes money to make money. Bad investments are a waste of money, but good ones are always beneficial. The problem with most people is they can't distinguish a good one from a bad one.
