Hi all,

I have made a site (www.midichords.com) where you can browse, play and download MIDI chord progressions. Actually, you can even share your own progressions with other members, comment on chord progressions, add them to your favourites, email them to your friends, etc. You do need to signup before you can download, but it should be quick and easy.

It is just an attempt to build a major MIDI resource. Let me know what you think :) And if you upload files, I'd be more than grateful!

Cheers,
Marc

Thx for the uploads! I hope we can build a great midi resource this way. Feel free to make comments and/or suggest features if you are missing something....

I was thinking about some kind of rating feature... what do you think? That way it is easy to find the best progressions.

Honestly, the reason I uploaded was because I noticed that you are missing some R&B and Hip Hop flavor. Most of the stuff was house and trance

That's mostly because the site is brand new... i hope it will grow with progressions from all possible genres. Your contribution is really welcome!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I say let the listens be considered as the rating.

I think the # of downloads is a more reliable indication. Also, users can favor chord progressions. The more users who favor a progression, the higher the rating.

I will add an option so people are able to sort by ' # of plays' and '# of downloads'.

Ur R about to make alot of money with that website. Awesome Idea!!!!

Thanks DarkSkinBoi!

I hope the site will really work and that more people upload midi chord progressions. Sofar, people seem to really like the idea :)

Dope idea! Yo Letter L u got busy on one of those R N B joints OMG!

Soooo if you do a joint with one of these progressions shouldn't the uploader get co production credit? lol Just sayin

I specifically limited this site to chord progressions. As such, chord progressions cannot be copyrighted while leads, melodies, etc., can be copyrighted.

Having said that, crediting people for work done is only fair in my view. Maybe you could credit an uploader by adding his/her progression to your favorites (there is an option for that on the site). Then they will show up on the top of the 'most favored' list, leading to more hits, etc. ..Anyway, it's just and idea...
